It's not as simple as roulette, where you bet your money on black, as the outcome can depend on the other players and the cards on the table.
Regardless, poker can be considered gambling.

I don't think so. It's a game in which every Player has the chance to learn and to improve. Whether you make the right decisions or not is up to you and your knowledge and discipline. You can have bad luck in the short term, but in the long term skillful players will always be more successful.

Poker is a skill based game, if you wager on it - its gambling.

I like to look at it as investing, where you are trying to get a return on your investment.

If you bet with your own money then that’s gambling. If you play only freerolls then that’s free money.

Hi :)
I think any game for money can be considered gambling. But for me personally, poker is more of a sport than a game of chance. For me, poker is a sport like chess.
Good luck :)

你好:)
我認為任何以金錢為目的的遊戲都可以被視為賭博。但對我個人而言,撲克更像是一項運動,而不是一種機會遊戲。對我來說,撲克是一種像西洋棋一樣的運動。
祝你好運:)
My thoughts are similar to yours. If money is involved, it is certainly gambling, but if there is skill, it can be called competitive sports.

Gambling online ? Nope . I don't believe poker is gambling . It's more oc a skill game in online poker , skill to manipulate rng and pot odds . My favourite? To watch people with Arag with 3-5 blonds just calling/limping , I wish it was gambling but it is not . The same applies to online casino . It is not gambling either . It tries to play with hour psychology, drive you on tilt mode , make you play and spend more .

Unlike the slots, poker actually requires thought and skill. That said, it's absolutely gambling.

Yes it is, if a player enter a tournament and go all in all hands he has a chance of winning. It's a very low chance but he has, so it's gambling.

For me, poker has always been and will always be a game of chance. I don't consider poker a sport because it's a completely different game based on money. Poker without money is not a game, it's a puzzle.

Poker it's a mind sport, and I don't like to say it's "gambling".

Except if you don't study it...

Except if you can't take care about your bankroll...

Except if you play this like a crazy guy that don't even know why you are in draw against an opponent with a hand truly different than yours...

Poker has a little luck influence, but you can beat it in long term.

When we evolve our knowledge in this game, everything looks like a dice game...

Imagine if you were playing against someone with a 20 sides dice.

You will win always it hit a number from 1 to 17, and the opponent will from 18 to 20.

If you play the dice 3 times, he could win 2 or 3 of times (not so) easily, but it would be just luck.

But what if we could play it 1 million times?

Your opponent could win everytime, but would you believe he would really do this? I don't think so...

You would win MOST part of the times in this situation...

This is just a simple analogy I like to use to make people understand the luck influence in poker, I hope people like it...

To win a poker tournament you need luck, but it is proven that if you want to dedicate yourself to this you must have skill.

It is a game, but it is not just gambling! If you behave like gambling, you are practically based on the luck factor. You need to manage the psychology factor and have a strategy!

Poker is considered a form of gambling because it involves risking money, and there's an element of luck in the game. While skill plays a huge role, no one can deny that luck affects the outcome, especially in the short term. So, even though poker requires strategy, it still falls under gambling due to the financial risk involved.
