Depending on your financial institution it can take 30-90 days for a cheque to clear.
Hope that helps
Well troderick, in closer examination of it all, you maybe right. Although if it is that easy for all the americans out there, then you guys shouldn't have a problem getting money deposited to your accounts(except the ones that your banned from). The only challenge then would be to find a fellow friend in another country. (I wonder how long it takes for an American personal cheque to clear here in Canada). I just recently received a Business cheque from another Country for my winnings and it took 30 days to clear before I could get the money. You might want to consider a bank transfer for faster play. And no I don't know if there are any such rules, but you bring up a good point.

I see that we have started getting a little bit of snow lately, I was hoping to go out tomorrow and build a snowman, than I heard its suppose to be +2 degrees celcius and now my only hope is maybe I can build a snowball. I had some hope for an entire week that we might see winter, but this weather is so unpredictable from day to day that I give up on guessing and the weathermen have no clue themselves.

Well, we had more snow than we are ready for out here in Vancouver. Our problem is 1) the snow is wet, not like the dryer snow I grew up with in the BC interior, and 2) most Vancouverites don't know how to drive in it.

Accelerate before the hill, not half way up! Don't slam on the brakes going downhill, gear down before you start! And those people driving 4x4 Suzukis that weigh less than a bathtub thinking four wheel drive handles anything! Sheesh.

Ahhh I'm sure only one or two people on these boards care but.. Leafs won again last night! That's two straight after the all star break.. I smell a very nice winning streak coming up.

The first game vs montreal was a beauty.. And we have dominated Montreal every game this season but the end score never resembles that.. Due to some unlucky bounces / some softies let in by Raycroft.. Was nice to see such a good win! Raycroft was solid too!

And vs Carolina! Great game, Cam Ward played great, It could have been 6~7-1 rather then 4-1... And another huge game for Raycroft! I think Ward played better but Raycroft definitly played good, if he plays that well for the rest of the season then I believe we can get that playoff spot!

Big game tommorow vs the Rangers, they are in 8th I think so it's 4 points at stake not 2!

Just some random ramblings, I should really join a hockey forum to get all my hockey talk out.. But I'm too lazy

Indeed! I've seen quite a few people from the Lou on these boards since I recently joined. I'm feeling right at home :) .

It's too bad our hockey team blew it last night. I was at the game and we should have been up about 3-1 after the 2nd. Instead they didn't take advantage and the Wild (what a stupid name) wins. Now they're 10 pts back of a playoff spot when they could have been 6. Dammit.

I'm not doubting that the hab's are a better team this year (At least statistically)... I am however saying the Leafs have outplayed them in every single game (Perhaps minus one so far).. The leafs seem to play well vs the habs....

When the Leafs are checking, playing smart defense and razor is on his game(Oh and healthy)... they are a contender for the playoffs... (Problem is that they havn't had a smart disciplined, uninjured team.. and Raycroft hasnt been good) I guess you can say the same with most teams tho..

I've been missing so much hockey b/c of work 3-10p.m. that I'm so glad you guys are here to keep me posted on how my leafs are doing. Sure it's easy to go look at the score at the end of the game but I like to here all your comments on game play etc. Are we going to make it to the playoffs?

Are we going to make it to the playoffs?

Short answer - If Raycroft continues to play like he has the passed 3 games then yes. (Sorry that was as short as I could get it)

Another GREAT game tonight, SO happy to see us win by a 1 goal margin, Raycroft was unbelievable stopping 37 some odd shots... We did a great job defensivly (Despite all the shots against) Gill held Jagr down, and Coliacavo saved a goal after blocking a shot.

Played a nice rough game, and I've always said when we have that strong forchecking it is really hard for the other teams to play against us.. We have many huge guys that are just waiting to line you up and drive you into the boards. And I have to give a shout out to Battaglia Pohl and Kilger, These guys do so much work it is incredible.. We have been so lucky to have these guys available to be brought up..

We have moved up to a 3 way tie for 7th place in the Eastern conference, altho Pittsburgh still has 3 games on us. We have a nice 3 game winning streak going on here, and have won 5 of the last 6.

(Oh and P.S The 'goal' scored by Shanahan was NOT a goal.. He clearly kicked the puck into the net... It was so blatantly obvious to me, but perhaps that is why I am just a fan and the goal judges are goal judges...)

he clearly redirected the shot with his foot, there was no distinct kicking motion.

He turned his skate and kicked it in it seemed to me... I think the reason it counted was because he had just turned his skate and as you said it was deflected in...

I need to see the replay again but it sure as hell looked like a kicking motion to me.. I'll have to watch again when they show the game on leafs TV.

Usually when the Leafs strike a winning streak we stay in it for a while, lets hope they continue for a while to get us out of the tie situation, I can't make a comment on the deflection of puck, situations like that though I think we all see what we want to see in our teams favor.

Shannahan's redirect = NO GOAL. I'm trying my best to ignore my bias as a leafs fan, but I honestly saw a kicking move. Yes he turned his foot, which by itself would have been fine, but he also made a forward motion which = kick in my mind.

Oh well, we win either way :)

I love shanny anyways, he's always been one of my favourite players so I got nothin against him.

Great game by the leafs; some great forechecking from the young guns and call-ups, a couple of flukey goals from shannahan and poni and of course Mats' beauty glove side from a feed from white :D

Gotta love it.

Yes I have to agree with you chuck, But perhaps as biased leafs fan's we were imagining the forward kicking motion lol...

And I love shanahan as well.. Good Canadian player!

OMG you Leaf fans kill me. Shanny's goal was good. His foot was moving forward because his body was moving towards the net. He did not kick at the puck though. From knee to shin stayed at the same angle to the ice the whole time, there is noo way he kicked it. He lifted his skate, turned his foot to purposely deflect the puck towards the net and put his foot down. I don't like either team and not a big Shanahan fan (too much of a frickin' whiner, but I have to admit, the guy has termendous skill) but that was clearly a goal. It could have been Iginla scoring that goal on the Oilers in game 7 of quadruple overtime in the Western Conference championships and I call it a goal.

I saw Shannahans goal and to be honest (not trying to be biased as a leaf hater) I thought it was good. I've seen several goals allowed that looked more like kicks than that over the years. It is really hard to tell if a player actually kicked the puck or not, especially when they are tied up with other players.
Incidentally the goal was ruled a goal by the official on the ice. So the only way that it can be disallowed is if there is INDISPUTABLE evidence that it was kicked. Such was not the case.
Oh well, you guys won the game anyway.

A question to the leaf fans out there, Tie Domi was a pretty popular player with the leafs.... what do you think of his abilities as an analyst (if you can call him that). I never minded him as a player myself, but man is he horrible on TV.

Yes, horrible indeed...

And I watched the goal again on TV.. and it still looks like a kicking motion to me.. We need a youtube of it and then we can make a poll lol.

But as you said it doesn't matter it probably only ended up helping the leafs lol. Had some pretty active shifts after the goal, and got er back.

This was a publicity stunt gone WAY wrong. I applaud TSN for jumping on him since he was very popular when he was play - use him while he's hot. There was the possiblity that he may add value to their programming. That obviously didn't pan out. He isn't a part of the discussion panels anymore (that I noticed) because he is isn't smart enough to participate and add value. OMG end the experiment!!!! Domi has nothing intelligent or interesting to say and I just change the channel when I see his ugly mug now.

I am not even going to go into the retarded mess revolving around his divorce as to why I think he is a knob.

Hey Leafs fans----I told my team last night to take it easy on you guys :D . It looks like it worked. Now you're only 1 pt back. Seriously though, what an ugly game. I couldn't watch it but looking at the box score there were only 36 combined shots, 16 of those by your Leafs. Mckee must have been blocking them all.

I don't know how that game wasn't like 10-10...

Wait, yes I do. Raycroft played superbly, as did your goalpost :D ;)

But seriously the score didn't justify the amount of chances that should have gone in for both teams...

Pretty dull game apart from the FREAKEN AMAZING save by Raycroft..

Not many shots on net... was pretty boring if you ask me... Leafs offensivly were no where near their best, Which is great news.. It's good to have the Leafs finally win a game when the team was not playing so great.. I think if the team played their best it would easily have been 4-1 or 5-1.. Raycroft is the exception of course..

What sucks is that even tho the Leafs have won 5 straight and 8 of their last 10... They have barely moved up in the standings... It really pisses me off to see two eastern teams that are contending for playoff's go into OT... And why is it whenever the Leafs are in a playoff push, and playing well.. The rest of the damn east starts winning games.. This happend last year, the only difference is the Leafs are starting their push a bit earlier..(Which obv is good)

Anyways, I predict montreal will drop to 7th~10th in the east come playoff time, and Toronto will move into anywhere from 5th~8th really..

Tough game on thurs... Nashville sure is hot, but they won't stop the leafs win streak!
