As we continue our long journey of learning the ins and outs of poker strategies, we really need to think about the money we invest.

What is your strategy for managing your bankroll? or do you have a strategy?

Go ahead and share your plan!
Hi :)
My strategy is to play in our daily freerolls, accumulate money and then play in good promising weekend tournaments. I do not invest my own money in the game, there is simply no need to if you are a member of the CardsChat community :)
So, thank you again :)

I like to feel more comfortable playing, so my bankroll strategy is 1.5x, for example: 1 dollar tournaments I like to have a bankroll of 150 dollars to play.

Hello Poker Fans,

My bankroll management plan is simple and I have always been curious about how to pay myself, out of all the effort placed into poker. I started this journey from $0, with the intention of building it up to $100 and taking stabs at $1 buy-in tournaments when I got there. I was focussing more on pokerstars but after building my bankroll to about $700, I was forced to withdraw because they no longer supported my region. That solved the "pay myself issue" and I gladly used the money for the house, which pleased my wife greatly!

Now my focus is on 888Poker and I am trying to consistently build my bankroll up to make $100 each month. This is quite a stretch but I am trying to get to $200 by the end of August.

So in summary, I am following the plan to play MTT - more specifically the $1 Micro Mystery Bounty format and stay within a 100 buy-ins - until I can level up. Occasionally, I play the Ring tables $.01/$.02 taking $0.80 tables at a time and cashing in whenever I get close to $1.60 (this is a recent strategy that is working very well). This would be done anytime I do not have enough time to play a MTT tournament and can multi-task.

Following this, I should not go broke - especially since I grind freerolls and participate in 888Poker tournaments. The last one I played brought in about $40! I have also won two $20 bounties in the Mystery Bounty Tournaments. It is only a matter of time before I get through. To date, I have won two $109 tickets on 888Poker but have not managed to make the money yet. The future looks bright for online poker and I think that I have a winning bankroll management strategy. All that being said - I welcome any advice or observations. :D

There are many strategies and useful tools for bankroll management, but unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all approach.Set your bankroll, stick to your budget and beware of variance and multiple bets.

I have strict bankroll management nowadays . When I started I played fun poker as a recreational , no bankroll management at all . That didn't help . So bankroll management and freerolls helped not to abandon poker , cause losing money all the time will make you stop playing sooner or later .
If I can't have profits enough to justify playing on higher stakes , I will not try and pay to play higher stakes .

When I first started to play Poker on-line, I made my Wife a promise that I wouldn't deposit any money. She was a little confused as to how I could possibly Gamble On-line without paying up front and I had to explain how freerolls work.
This of course opened the door for me to go play Poker Freerolls and the rest I suppose is History, I used Play money chips to get practice in and started cashing in the freerolls, I will always remember my first cash win as it was only 32 Cents, But as the saying goes Mighty Oaks grow from tiny Acorns.
My plan all along was that I didn't really trust poker sites, and felt that with computers anything was possible to cheat you out of your money, I still don't trust them today even after spending 20 years playing On-line, but my reason's have changed from being scammed by the poker site, to more like the Hardware failing to work, like Computer crashes or the Internet going down.
Whichever Site I played on I always started off by taking advantage of the freeroll Tournaments on offer, whether they were Point games, or Ticket games or better still cash money games. It really didn't matter as I was doing what I enjoyed which was playing Poker for Free! It was only once I had saved over $25 Dollars that I started buying in to Sit and Go games to help increase my Bankroll. 25 or 50 Cent games initially until I made my first $100 Dollars, then increased my buy-ins to $1 Sit and Go's,
On PokerStars I can now buy-in to $5 Dollar games and it is still less than 1% of my Bankroll, But what you need to understand is I never was interested in making money On-line, My ultimate goal was to be confident enough to play in Live events, Starting off in Pub Games and then moving up in stakes to play in Casino's and Club's This I managed to do quite quickly, and it was in those places where I started to make money.
I still play On-line Poker, and still enjoy playing in Micro stake games and the odd Freeroll, but for me Poker will always be a Hobby especially On-line, I play for the pure Pleasure the game gives me, and the On-line Practice I get at a very small price, for when I attend a Live event.
I do have a Secret Stash of Cash for my real passion of playing in Live events, but as the nearest Casino is over 100 miles away it is not a weekly thing, but it's nice not to have to worry about losing the odd game now and again, as long as I can pass the Money bubble I am usually in profit regardless of my finishing position.
Having a Bankroll Strategy really works, Whether you stick to a 1% or 2% philosophy, it doesn't really matter, You find the Balance that works for you and stick to it Religiously, Once you feel confident enough and your Bankroll allows you to increase your stakes, then go for it, but once you overstep your own boundaries it is then that you can find yourself on a slippery slope that only ends One Way, BROKE!
Good Luck.

The samurai has no purpose. There is only the way! So do I. I try to win as much money as possible without investing in poker (except GGPoker, where I have bankroll management, but I've written about it before, so I won't repeat myself). I will only say that this is a 3-level system of minimum blind limits in cash games. But lately I rarely played at GGPoker.
