1) How long have you been playing poker?
8 years
2) So when you started playing poker, did you think that age or experience mattered?
Experience yes, didn't consider age a factor, so long as you could see the cards and not fall asleep at the table
3) Do you believe age plays a factor in today’s poker society?
Absolutely, I'm 44, so I would like to say that a 25 year old has no advantage on me, but the reality is that they do ... in long marathon multi-table tourneys they will generally have more energy and they can be sharper with a younger mind (so long as they are not tweeting! )
4) In your opinion, how does experience compare to age as a benefit or hindrance in the game of poker?
Well, it's almost impossible to have poker success without experience unless you are some prodigy type, however, you cram 5 years of poker experience into one year with online poker, books, etc. So, a 25 year old dedicated player can have the equivalent of 20 years of live poker experience to go along with their high level of energy and if they happen to have patience, math, discipline, focus, decent bankroll, etc. to go along with that, then look out!
So, I will give age a slight edge, because you can't go to the fountain of youth, but you can play hand after hand and read book after book to get experience.
Thank you so much for your input!!! Definitely helps!!!
