I'm having a serious problem with my tourney game. The thing is I run good when I do very deep maintaining my position around the top 10 or so but then I get tangled with another big stack & wastes all my chips away & get knocked out around 20/30 ish.

the same thing happened today.
I was comfortably around 3rd in chips with 25ish players left & I got into war with the aggro chip leader.
And for some reason I can't find the fold button.
So damn disappointing. The same thing has happened a couple of times recently.
The 3rd up top had around $70+bounties while I got knocked for around $15.
So depressed right now.

6 max zoom player are so predictable ;D

Watching Tonka and Stables they both stay away from big stacks, the theory from cash side that wider speculative value against big stacks seems to be opposite in tournaments. I mean literally they just step aside. Big stacks seem to give pure value just like in cash, but the road for value seems to be way more straightforward -> You flop top pair go ATW and get paid by TPBK :dontknow:

Don't worry very impressive results regardless. Massive 3bet% that guy had.

I'm struggling to see why you think you might be good after his turn bet.
He 3bets and fires twice on a king high flop. You have 2nd pair you have to find the fold button.
It's no different to a cash game hand, you wouldn't call it off here in a cash game without some sort of incredible read. You only had 14 hands on him....
If you think he was light to start with then 4bet him pre.
He shouldn't get involved oop against your stack size without good hands.

It's just looks like a brain fart tbh.

And strategically yes avoid tangling with the big stacks unless you are strong. They can play a bit looser and be harder to read and pressure you with their stacks in a way a 20bb stack cannot. This hand was fine right up to the turn. There are easier targets at the tables.

quite true.
It's just that his sizings are so suspicious I get an itch to call it down. I hate that part of my game.
Every goddamn time when I run very hot in a game I make some stupid move like this and waste it all away.
Either it's a stupid bluff catch or a stupid bluff getting caught

After that I registered to another game. Ran insane the first hour & went up to first place. Now sitting at 20bigs struggling.
At least sitting on profit

Excellent well done. Yeah it always feels great to win a tourny.
I see it took 5 hours that's a grind, ok if you are running cash along side but 5 hours is a long cash session (for me anyway).
One of the reasons I like those O8 tourns is the smaller fields and they are usually done in 2 hours.
You might find it a better use of your time to try and find some smaller fields, maybe some 45 man sit n goes or similar.

Wasn't running any cash. I rarely play 1.10s but was looking for overlay tourneys. Took longer than I expected.
I'm watching talonchicks videos. Will play some o8s very soon.
Hate sit n gos which is why I avoid them.

As with all the games the standard of O8 play on pokerstars is considerably higher than it is on 888.

In fact recently I've just been focusing on 888 and giving Stars a miss.
It would be worth checking out the O8 on party poker.
It's taken me about 12 months to get where I am with the mixed games.
O8 is all about correct preflop hand selection and reading the flop to understand your high and low equity. You will be getting it in frequently on suitable flops.

Pushed you in...lol.Well done. If you have a big stack near the bubble you can really abuse the short stacks, even more so than in holdem.
Because the hand equities are much closer you can raise at will and never really be worse than 40-60 if they call. Literally every time they fold they are giving up near half equity in the pot.

well I just lost a big chunk of my stack. We'll see how it goes. players are aggressive

just went busto. I idiotically chases the nut low which is not the best thing to do as it seems. You may be chopping up the low while giving up the high. Worst case is there is no low. lol.
Have to put more time to the game

Just won a $215 main event ticket with little effort. I'm running really good in tourneys & I just feel a big bink is near. Gonna make it happen tmrw
https://www.cardschat.com/forum/general-poker-13/win-1-3-215-party-poker-365749/

on the side note my hud isn't working on party poker fast forward after the recent party update. Been trying 2 days to get it going but no luck. Already raised a support ticket & we'll see what's wrong.

Had a very interesting hand. What's your analysis of this?
CO is a very loose fish that I underestimated.
He shoved 90bigs in a into a 20bigs 3bet pot with K high vs me BvB. AK>vs my KQ.
SB is a bit of a nit. So he has something big. I suspect CO to have something as well.
He sometimes checks flop & turn on a really small pot & shoves the river for whatever reason. So this is a bit out of his line perhaps.

The worst case is I'm against a set (prob Ts)or AK but I have outs with a backdoor possibility
