Interesting hand. I'd do this every time. Sometimes I shove as per John's recommendation.
The V typed, "great size fish. In a 4bet pot" :D

getting the red line back on track fixed a lot it seems

Nice! It's also interesting to see that it isn't at the expense of your showdown profit.

Id say you risk losing value from some one with KJ KT and some flush draws by shoving, they might fold.
I'd bet around 28bb on the turn, that should pick up calls from all Kx and you are charging the draws 2.6-1, if he calls the pot will be around 100bb and he has 36 back so he feels priced in on the end getting nearly 4-1

I wanted the money to go in before the river. But I guess your point is right.
Crappy yesterday. I have lost my balance again. My af has sky rocketed while I'm loosing a lot in showdowns. Red line has gone way up. I am double barrelling a lot even when I have showdown value and should've gone for thin value. Need to find that balance again.
Ended up break even after playing a ton of hands.
My win rate has gone to shit but what's important is that I find & maintain my balance again.
I wouldn't mind a sweat session as well so let me know if anyone's free.
Wouldn't be playing much today cause we are having a full day powercut due to storms.
Last couple of days has been similar as well.
Welcome to a third world country!

Btw I fixed up a little pull up bar at home so I can do some decent exercising at home now.

New challenge - 50 pull-ups+ 50 squats per day from now on 😎

I'm free right now. But you said you may not be able to play just yet?

Get at me if ya want. I'll fire up Skype. Be up for a little while longer.

I hate when that happens!

However, even at 6 max that open is prob a little on the loose side, but I'm not gonna lie I can totally get behind it man.

But, when we are in a downswing, running bad, etc, I think game management may and should be considered. I'll try to explain what I mean....

So all players have a breaking point. The limit of punishment we can endure, before we start being emotionally affected (if we realize it or not, sometimes we can be tilting and not think 100%, but it's sneaky and we don't know right away).

When we are running bad, we are walking the line of that breaking point pretty much every day we play. It takes less to push us over the edge into bad or sloppy play, poor decisions, inability to think clearly in big pots, etc.

Now when I say game management, I just mean I generally look for ways to play lower variance when I have been getting smacked around a bunch in recent sessions. It helps me to play better if I avoid potentially gross spots/coolers by just tweaking my play some, and being a little more careful and cautious.

So, opening 5-6s UTG, and seeing flop, running flush over flush or something gross like that, then it takes us off our game, and the time we are putting in afterwards really isn't the best we are capable of. We are capable of more maybe, but sometimes things happen that will put us in spots where our emotions will affect us.

So that's what I mean by "game management."

Long post, but it's something I thought was applicable to your situation right now.

And you played the hand fine anyway. I actually like the open, and fold pre is very smart. Well played.

I would agree with 56s being wrong hand to open by all but most skilled players (not seen in NL5 btw)) given hero do not see villains that makes it profitable. Even T9s is problematic most of the time.

I have a hunch that opening 56s at 9max is more profitable than 6max, no clear idea why though. Probably wrong feeling.

my utg range is tight. 109s I'm definitely opening anywhere & will call most 3bets. One of my facourite hands to play.
Right now I'm playing a bit loose & have added 76s to my UTG range. This time I got a bit fancy
Would've definitely called here if I had a decent sample of the V knowing that the fish would call too. I thought his 3bet range was pretty damn tight

suited connectors are fun to play. They've a ton of equity against most ranges including 3bets.

I'm sure you can do it, I can't though. My point was more that even T9s can be debated to open, not alone 56s. I don't quite understand how you can be serious about considering calling 3bet with 56s. What your database says, JTs to 56s calling 3bet OOP?

If 'm facing in position depending on the opponent & the sizing I'll call most likely. OOP it's a different scenario.
I don't remember many times I've played likewise tbh. But this time I was serious cause for one I'm pretty deep. My 3bet flatting range is pretty wide. Second I know the fish would be coming as well.
The only thing that I was uncertain of was the V & not having a decent sample with no 3 betting history. If I knew he was 3betting this wide I'd flat more OOP without much consideration.
Once again it depends. But I'm pretty confident in playing suited connectors Like 78s+ than even something like A10s or AJs.
People 3 bet pretty damn light these days.
Some players 3bets any ace from the blinds. You just have to find a way to exploit them.
I've even found out players 3 betting K9off from the BTN,CO against UTG openers when both are deep. It's insane.

I don't know how to check the stats out. Would be interesting indeed.

Nice, mine is way negative. But having more aggression and hand reading skill it seems to work. So I stand corrected.

I didn't recognize the agro there, if you mean BB his vpip/pfr says he is tight tag, he is very unlikely to 3bet vs tight UTG. BTN might be agro, but there is no 3bet proof, no 3bet wide range usually means passive fish who overvalues broadways.
