Do you think you can outlast CardsChat pro Ryan Laplante in a wsop event? Here is your chance to try!

CardsChat will be having it's 7th WSOP team event in June. Members will have the opportunity to outlast bracelet winner Ryan Laplante in the WSOP Colossus event.

The Colossus tournament starts on Sat, June 2nd and ends on Thursday, June 7th. The buy-in is $565 and there are 6 starting flights. It is a re-entry event that will run for 6 days. $1,000,000 is guaranteed for 1st place!

Flight 7A - 10am Saturday, June 2
Flight 7B - 5pm Saturday, June 2
Flight 7C - 10am Sunday, June 3
Flight 7D - 5pm Sunday, June 3
Flight 7E - 10am Monday, June 4
Flight 7F - 5pm Monday, June 4

The event will be a last longer challenge and the team will consist of 6-15 members. We are taking names now for those who are interested and CardsChat members are welcome to join in! All CardsChat members with 40+ posts are eligible to participate. If you have less than that you have plenty of time to get there so I will accept your sign-up pending you reaching it before the event (but your spot is not reserved until you do).

As we add members they will need to post in this thread to introduce themselves and give us a little bit of background on their poker experience and history. Link your Twitter account please.

Cardschat will pay $200 of each team member's $565 entry into the event. (This is a re-entry event - you can re-enter but we will only pay $200 one time per team member). You are responsible for your own transportation and expenses to get to the event.

The team member who lasts the longest will get $500 - and unless you are Ryan the honor of outlasting him!

-In the event that no one makes Day 2 of the event, then we will determine the winner of the last longer by highest cash earned in the tournament - so choose your flight wisely.
You can start in any flight - however I will probably only be there on Sat and Mon. You must meet ALL requirements before getting paid. I will not be chasing you down to fulfill the requirements - including posting in this thread, so you could lose your spot if you don't take care of them in a timely manner. :)

Team members will be required to:
  1. Post their introduction to the team in this thread with full name and flight expected to play along with a link to their Twitter account.
  2. Participate in this rail thread. (or post their tournament updates in Twitter).
  3. Wear a CardsChat hoodie or t-shirt and use a CardsChat card protector throughout the entire event. (Both will be provided by CardsChat unless you have already been given one in a previous event. (They must have the logo on the back). Baseball caps and t-shirts will be provided if they are going to be worn. Hoodies may be placed on the back of your chair - however if you are being televised either the hoodie, a CC tshirt or a CC cap must be visible.
  4. Follow us in Twitter and tweet a picture of yourself wearing your CC gear and mention/tag @CardsChat.
  5. Tweet a picture of your chip stack or your cards with your card protector and mention/tag @CardsChat.
All of the above must be done before you receive your $200 - plus you need to already be registered for the event. You will not be eligible for the last longer prize if you do not wear CC gear and use your card protector during the entire event.

It's been a lot of years in this game at this point. Came up from the micros and now play primarily live low to mid stakes cash. Love me some tourneys though, and I've participated in 2 previous CardsChat WSOP team events. On top of playing poker, I also vlog about it on youtube.

I expect to play Flight E although my travel plans are still a bit in flux and that may change.

Everyone knows me! I will play Flight A - and then if I need to will play again on Monday in Flight E.

Love the first flight schedule being Sat-Mon instead of Fri-Sun like it was last year.

Hi Terri - you would need to make 40 quality posts in the forum to become eligible - you have plenty of time to do that.

We have a lot of different forums and topics - do a bit of exploring and I am sure you will find some thread topics that interest you. :)

Even though I was going to skip Vegas until the end of the year, this may lure me in for a week. I've done Team Cardschat events for 3 years running now, hate to break the streak. Put me down as a solid maybe for an early flight on Sunday or Monday.

Hi, I'm Amanda Nissman, I'd love to play on the team. I've played in cardschat online tourneys for a couple years now. I'm a big fan of cardschat! I also play live in a league for New York free poker and I won my seat to this years Bar Poker Open which takes place at the Golden Nugget Las V the week after this event so the timing would be great for me. More time in Vegas! To win my seat for the BPO which I've done twice I had to come in top 5% in an online tourney of around 500 players. The last 2 times I played this tourney I won seats both times. That's probably the highlight of my poker history. I haven't won a lot of money, yet! :) I live in NY so I don't get to play in casinos that often. I would probably play 7C or 7E My twitter is https://twitter.com/amandaanne Sorry, I don't use it really but will try and get better at that :) Thanks for the opportunity!

How about giving us amateurs some tips before we get there?
Last year I finished very close to the money, but I found that I tightened up too much about 4 hours in. I also wasn't prepared for the loose 3.5X preflop raises. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dakota, I'm so excited! Hubby has given thumbs up. Best hubby in the world! I will fly in on either the Sat or Sun and play the day C or E. Is there usually a long line to register for the event? I think I should do it the day before rather than morning of, right? I've never played a WSOP event and never anything on this scale. Thrilling!!!! Looking forward to meeting you all and yes I'd love any advice as well on how to play this event.

Study and practice as much as you can before the summer begins.

Lots of great content out there. I suggest RunItOnce and UpswingPoker.
