Las Vegas is the place to be for poker over the summer, save for 2020 due to COVID-19. Even this year, despite the WSOP being moved to the fall, thousands will travel to Southern Nevada to get some action, whether it be in the WSOP Online Bracelet Series, the DeepStack Championship Series, or the other casinos that inevitably decide to host a summer series.

And with the increased attendance expected in the poker rooms, there are seasonal jobs available for qualified dealers, starting with a call for dealers from the Venetian’s tournament director, Tommy LaRosa.

“We are looking for seasonal poker dealers for our summer DeepStack Championship Poker Series. Apply by clicking the link below,” LaRosa tweeted.

How to get a poker dealer job at Venetian

The Venetian DeepStack Championship series is scheduled to begin in late May and run until the middle of July, though exact dates haven’t yet been set. On the Sands Corp careers page, interested applicants will find specifics about the job and the minimum qualifications required to get hired.

For starters, you must be at least 21 years old to qualify, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be eligible to work in the United States. Beyond that, interested applicants must have at minimum one year of experience working in the casino industry, and it is preferred that you have worked for a major resort, such as the Venetian.

Additionally, the Las Vegas Strip card room has high standards for customer service and employee character. And since the series features various forms of poker tournaments, it’s essential that applicants understand multiple games, and not just No-Limit Texas Hold’em.

Given that poker dealers for the series will be required to work long hours, at least five days per week, it is essential that those who are hired are in good physical condition. The job requires being able to “sit, stand and move throughout the assigned area for extended periods of time, and maintain mobility to move throughout” the poker room.

Interested applicants can apply online on the Sands Corp careers website. Be prepared to submit a resume.
