DraftKings finds a partner
DraftKings debuts as a partner of the Celebrity Poker Tour on YouTube tonight (Feb. 6) with its Game Night IV featuring Shane Victorino, Ethan & Hila Klein from H3, Bryce Hall, Steiny, Tana Mongeau, Jorge Masvidal, Mackenzie Dern, BookItWithTrent, and Frazier Kay.
DraftKings brings its branding to the online show months after it launched a peer-to-peer version of online poker on its sportsbook and casino in Michigan and Pennsylvania. The game, called Electric Poker, pits three players against each other in a winner-take-all sit ‘n go. The prize is randomized before the first hand is dealt, and could be anywhere from two-times the buy-in to 10,000-times.
Many poker sites have a version of this game. It’s known as “Spin & Go” on PokerStars, for example.
New poker room in Virginia
The poker room at the brand-new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol will open for business tomorrow (February 7).
“We’re excited to bring a first-class poker room to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol,” said Alan Thompson, the casino’s Vice President of Gaming Operations, in a press statement. “With a mix of cash games and tournament play, we’re offering something for every poker player, whether they’re local or traveling from afar. We look forward to welcoming guests from across the region and beyond to experience our state-of-the-art venue.”
The newest Hard Rock Entertainment’s casino opened Nov. 14. Located on the southwest in Virginia near the Tennessee border, the 14-table poker room is non-smoking.
PokerStars survey on responsible gambling
Online giant PokerStars sent a survey to its players in the United States to get some information about the gambling habits of Americans. It’s asking players to be honest about such things as “if I gamble more often, it will help me to win more than I lose,” “gambling is not a good way to make money,” and “my chances of winning get better after I have lost,” to name a few questions.
It also wants to understand if a player knows about the “safer gambling tools” PokerStars implements, such as restricting deposit amounts, table limits, withdraw cancelations, and self-exclusion.
