New poker show premieres

A new poker show called “Cash Flow” premieres on PokerGO at 8 p.m. EST tonight (March 13).

The players will play mostly no-limit holding at $100/100 stakes, with some other variants and bomb pots mixed in. Viewers will also see a “Mini Wheel of Gamble” used some way.

Players include Ethan “Rampage” Yau, Shawn Madden, Nick Schulte, Phil Sham, Blake Vogdes and others. The show will only be available to PokerGO subscribers.

Connecticut may join MSIGA

A Connecticut lawmaker wants to jump-start online poker in his state by introducing a bill that would “empower the governor to enter into agreements for the purpose of authorizing online gaming operators to conduct multi-jurisdictional Internet gaming for peer-to-peer casino games.”

That would be the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), the pact that allows online poker sites in member states to share players across borders on the same client. Current members are New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, Michigan, and West Virginia.

Pennsylvania is in the process of joining MSIGA, and could be a member by next month.

Connecticut legalized online gambling and poker in 2021, but has yet to see an online poker site open there.

Bay 101 Shooting Star back with WPT

The World Poker Tour has put the popular Bay 101 Shooting Star series back on its schedule after an eight-year break. The full series will take place at the San Jose casino Oct. 17-31, with the $5,300 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Champion Event running Oct. 25-29.

The championship event has always been a fun one because each starting table is guaranteed to have one “Shooting Star.” These players, who in the past have worn t-shirts defining their status as “Shooting Stars,” have a $2,500 bounty on their heads.

In addition to the bounties, the player with the chip lead on their Day 1 starting flight will win a $5,000 bonus.

The final table of the championship event will be played at a later date in Las Vegas, where it will be filmed for broadcast.

Poker dealer pleads guilty

The JACKS casino dealer who was charged for stealing chips out of pots in November has appeared in Ohio court and changed his plea to guilty. Jason Saliba, 51, was charged with 14 count of theft after he was spotted by a player pocketing chips on Sept. 6.

After an investigation by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, it was determined that Saliba skimmed the pot 14 times over a one-moth period. Because the thefts totaled less than $1,000, Saliba was charged with a misdemeanor. If he stole more than $1,000, things would have been much worse for him, as he would have committed a felony.

By pleading guilty, he avoided a possible jail sentence. Instead, the plea deal requires him to pay a small fine and bans him from JACKS casino for life.
