WSOP satellite season is underway, which means players around the world have a chance to qualify for the $10,000 Main Event. The latest venue to offer WSOP packages is Canada’s Playground Poker Club.

The Montreal poker room is offering WSOP packages worth CA$16,200 to one in 10 entrants on June 3. Players can buy into the CA$1,800 final satellite directly or win a ticket via the weekly step satellites.

Anyone who wins a package at Playground Poker Club gets a seat in WSOP Main Event, plus expenses to cover travel and accommodation.

WSOP satellites for Canadians

The latest WSOP satellite offer for Canadians follows the announcement of GGPoker’s Road to Vegas promotion. As headline sponsor of the WSOP, GGPoker is offering at least 600 Main Event packages in 2023.

500 will be available on GGPoker’s international dot.com site, and 100 will go to Club GG subscribers. That means players in Canada can play for these packages, as long as they’re outside of Ontario. For those in the ring-fenced market of Ontario, WSOP.ca (which is powered by GGPoker) is giving away two packages per week.

Canadians, and anyone else traveling Quebec, can also enter Playground Poker Club’s WSOP promotion. The Step 1 satellites cost $225, and one in 10 entrants advance to Step 2.

The first Step 1 satellite takes place on April 9 at 4:00 pm. Subsequent Step 1 satellites will run every Sunday until May 7 before two final qualifiers take place at the start of June.

Steps to Las Vegas

Those who win a ticket for the $1,800 final qualifier on June 3 will join players who buy in directly in a race to win at least one WSOP prize package. Depending on the number of entries, one in 10 players will be going to the 2023 World Series of Poker.

The latest WSOP qualifiers are just the start of things to come. With the 2023 WSOP set to be one of the biggest ever, poker operators around the world will be sending as many players as possible to Las Vegas.
