Poker management at The Orleans told CardsChat News on Wednesday the casino plans to hold a tournament series concurrent with the World Series of Poker.
Poker players should enjoy plenty of tournament options this fall as a series of festivals are beginning to shape up around the WSOP, which normally takes place in the summer, but which will occur Sept. 30-Nov. 23 this year. In addition to The Orleans, the Golden Nugget has already announced plans for a fall festival, and The Venetian has historically held one of its DeepStack Extravaganza series in the fall.
Rob Moore, poker director at The Orleans, told CardsChat that the poker room, which is now hosting its 2021 Summer Poker Series, plans to put on another series in the fall.
“We do not have a schedule yet or exact dates,” Moore said. “We will probably finalize that in the next 30 to 40 days.”
Golden Nugget already announced via Twitter its plans to host a tournament series Sept. 28-Oct. 18. The poker room’s Twitter account said it would release a schedule in early July, but had not as of Thursday.

The Venetian is now hosting its DeepStack Championship Poker Series and usually hosts a similar event in the fall. CardsChat reached out to the poker room and is waiting on confirmation about the casino’s plans.
Planet Hollywood usually hosts its Phamous Poker Series at this time of year. Not only did that event not take place this summer, but the poker room is shutting down as of Sunday. A person who answered the poker room phone this past week and did not give her name said that she’s not aware of any plans for a series this fall.
CardsChat hasn’t been able to reach the poker managers at Aria and Wynn yet to discuss plans at those casinos. Binion’s, the original home to the WSOP and host of a poker festival most summers, has closed its poker room.
