GGPoker has partnered with the Dublin Poker Festival, which means players around the world can qualify for the €400,000 guaranteed series for as little as €1.
The Dublin Poker Festival was formed in 2012 when the Amateur Championship of Poker (ACOP) and European Deepstack Poker Championship merged.
Prior to that, the European Championship, which started in 2007, ran as a standalone event. Now, as the Dublin Poker Festival, both tournaments are thriving and, with the help of GGPoker, they could reach new heights in 2023.
More craic at 2023 Dublin Poker Festival
The partnership, which was announced on January 4, means GGPoker will act as the festival’s headline sponsor. That means it can offer a selection of satellites for the €200,000 guaranteed European Deepstack, as well as other events on the schedule.
GGPoker is also planning to host a mystery bounty event during the series. This, combined with giveaways and the famous Irish craic, should make it the biggest Dublin Poker Festival in recent memory.
Dublin Poker Festival Highlights
- Feb 16 – 19: Amateur Championship of Poker – €100,000 guarantee
- Feb 23 – 26: European Deepstack Poker Championship – €200,000 guarantee
- Feb 20 – 21: Irish Senior Championship (Over 50s) – €25,000 guarantee
The action gets underway at the Bonnington Hotel on February 16 with Day 1A of the €300 Amateur Championship of Poker. That tournament’s €100,000 guarantee will set the tone for ten days of action.
There will be dozens of low stakes side events to choose from, a senior’s tournament, cash games, and, of course, the €570 European Deepstack Poker Championship. Overall, the series will have €400,000 in guaranteed prize money but expectations are that this total will be surpassed.
GGPoker’s head of marketing for UK and Ireland, Angela Martin, said she wants to see “as many GGPoker players there as possible.” Brian Lannon of the Dublin Poker Festival echoed that sentiment, saying that the partnership with GGPoker will open up the series to a “wider player base.”

Online satellites are the obvious mechanism for increasing participation. GGPoker will be offering step satellites starting at €1 and direct qualifiers costing €50+ from January 9. However, affordable ways to play aren’t the only reason to ante up.
GGPoker’s bubble protection will be available in selected events during the festival. That means anyone who busts on the bubble gets their buy-in back.
More innovations have been promised and will be announced in due course, which, according to Brian Lannon, is another benefit to having a “fantastic” new partner in GGPoker.
