The 54th version of the WSOP is set to run from May 30 to July 18 at Paris Casino and the newly remodeled Horseshoe Las Vegas. There will be 95 live bracelet events open to the public. A bracelet will also be awarded to the winner of the the Tournament of Champions  — a $1 million invitational open to all of 2022/23 WSOP Circuit ring winners. It starts May 31.

This is different than last year’s inaugural TOC, which closed the Series and included 2022 bracelet winners. This year’s bracelet winners are eligible to play the TOC in 2024.

Online, players will compete for a total of 34 bracelets — 20 in the shared market of New Jersey/Nevada, plus seven more each for players in Pennsylvania and Michigan. This means that WSOP.com will not hook Michigan up with New Jersey/Nevada until at least after the Series even though Michigan joined the pact that allows states to share player pools with each other last May.

The online events in Nevada/New Jersey begins June 1, while the events in the other two states take place Sundays starting June 4.

Bet on a Main Event record-breaker

Last year, the WSOP Main Event came 110 players short of breaking the 2006 record-field of 8,773. WSOP officials are making a concentrated effort to make sure the record will be broken this this year.

“With the momentum generated from the WSOP’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip last year, we expect a record-breaking WSOP and World Championship at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023,” said Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP, in today’s press release. “If the Main Event is on your bucket list, this is the year to get to Vegas.”

The WSOP is hoping to smash the record by running “a vast new series of promotions” they’re calling “Main Event Mania.”

That includes 600 seats that will be won internationally on GGPoker.com and ClubGG.net. This more than doubles the seats offered by the GGPoker in 2022. Satellites begin in March.

For players in the US, WSOP.com will run a “seat sprint” promotion from June 25 to July 8, where 112 seats will be won. Addition sattelites will also start in March.

And for the first time, the WSOP organized satellites to the Main Event in card rooms throughout the world. Called the “Global Qualification Weekend,” satellites starting at $140 will take place May 20-21. Confirmed US rooms are:

Harrah’s Cherokee, Horseshoe Las Vegas, Horseshoe Tunica, Horseshoe St. Louis, Harrah’s Pompano, Turning Stone Casino, Hard Rock Tulsa, Grand Victoria Casino in Illinois, and Horseshoe Council Bluffs.

International partners include King’s Resort (Czech Republic), Club Pierre Charron Paris (France), Deerfoot Inn & Casino Calgary (Canada), Enjoy Punta del Este Resort and Casino (Uruguay), and Casino Es Saadi Marrakech (Morocco).

More rooms will be soon added.

Additionally, the WSOP is offering quite the bonus if the record is broke. If that happens — and it will — one of the entrants will win a Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years. The drawing will be held July 8.

The Main Event begins July 3.

Finals tables of selected events will be aired on PokerGO. CBS was also announced as a broadcast partner for the second straight year. The full schedule, including satellites and daily tourneys, is found here.
