Poker’s “dead” period — the slow month of August following the WSOP — is about to come to an end in the US, thanks to a flurry of major and mid-stakes tournaments starting next month at poker rooms running down the Eastern Seaboard.

This virtual tour of the Atlantic coast begins in New Jersey, at Atlantic City’s famous Borgata (now with sports betting), then heads to the Washington DC/Baltimore for more World Poker Tour events at Maryland Live, and eventually on down to South Florida at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood. Below are some of the events that should draw grinders and rounders from all over to get back in poker action.

WPT Runs from AC to DC

The fun begins Sept. 3 in New Jersey with the Borgata Poker Open, an annual series highlighted by a $3,500 buy-in WPT event starting on Sept. 17, the third World Poker Tour stop on its 2018-2019 schedule.
