The CardsChat forum has been having something of a party this month, with special freerolls in August to celebrate the forum’s reaching the 250,000-member milestone, and there’s still another $15,000 to give away.
Some, but not all, of the tournaments have happened already. See below for a rundown of players who took down the top prize in freerolls open to all CardsChat forum members (usually you have to do something to qualify, but not with these special tournaments this month), and keep scrolling to see the lineup of this weekend’s events.
The forum has been extremely active in recent weeks, not only celebrating the membership achievement, but also rooting for members Jacki Burkhart and Kirstie Olieberg. They both competed this month on “Poker Night in America’s” Ladies Night, and both had highly profitable sessions.
Antidote to August Doldrums?
Supposedly, August is one of the slowest months in poker. With everybody recovering from their WSOP hangover, and perhaps rebuilding the bankroll for some or spending their winnings for others, poker tends to take a back seat for a few weeks. But not at CardsChat. Our forum signed up its 250,000th member on Aug. 4, and it’s been wild with fun and games ever since.
“This month has been so much fun at CardsChat,” said forum administrator Debi O’Neill, who goes by dakota-xx. “Members have really enjoyed all of the freerolls and giveaways and everyone is looking forward to this last huge weekend.”
Throughout August, CardsChat will have given away nearly $40,000 in tournament prizes, including $26,000 in freerolls and added money events. There’s also been a whole bunch of swag flying around.

The CardsChat forum is supposed to be about community, but hey, we’re all poker players here, too, so the freerolls help, right? This weekend our forum members will be wrapping up the celebration by competing for $15,000 remaining in freeroll prize money.
