CardChat’s podcast flipped the tables this week as Chris Wallace put host Robbie Strazynski on the hot seat in this week’s episode of the “friendliest poker podcast in town.”
“At least it used to be,” quipped Wallace, right off the bat. And yes, he sounds very much like a Terminator built in Kalamazoo.
Wallace, a WSOP winner who is getting ready to make a run at a slate of bracelet events while also capturing the Series as a photographer for CardsChat, and Strazynski have known each other for years. And when you get two thoughtful and empathetic men together — even if they’re poker players — it’s inevitable conversation will turn to things like family, travel, and giving.
Strazynski, the publisher of Card Player Lifestyle since 2009, has made both poker and charity a central point of his life, so it’s no surprise he was recognized for his work in 2018 when he was awarded the Global Poker Index Charitable Initiative of the Year for raising $10K for Save a Child’s Heart, an Israeli-based non-profit that gives children in need life-saving heart procedures.
“Charity has always been such a big part of who I am. To get an award for it, it’s pretty darn awesome, something I can be very proud of and show my kids,” Strazynski said. “Poker has such great potential to bring money to charitable causes.”
Wallace and Strazynski are about to have some fun — and raise money for Poker Gives — at Card Player Lifestyle’s mixed-game festival that will be held at Resorts World in Las Vegas June 12-16. Part of the festival is a daily book-signing and sale where a portion of proceeds will go the charity. Bernard Lee, Dylan Linde, Greg Raymer, Eli Elezra, and Wallace will all be signing books.

A feature of the podcast is fielding questions from CardChat’s community members and Strazynski spent a good portion of the interview doing this. Visit the thread to find out who will be the next guest and submit questions.
