As the title asks. Personally I'm never taking a chop. I came here to play it down all the way, to win out right and it doesn't matter how long it takes. Honestly the longer the better for me.

I've chopped a few times when the deal was good, or there were too few big blinds and too much luck.
But if possible, I want to play all the tournaments.

Yes, sometimess is necessary, despite having a lot of time to spare, it has some occasions to be propitious

Well time is money so I could certainly think of times to chop fairly and move on to the next tourney....,
having said that I mainly play cash games... I like shorthanded/HU play so the
idea of chopping a tourney is pretty alien to me👍

Chopping means sharing equally like chopping the pot, when two or more players have the same hand on the river. What you presumably mean is deals. Some deals are chops but the vast majority is based on either ICM or some kind of negotiation, where the players with most chips get the biggest share. And yes I sometimes accept deals, if I have other things to do than playing a perhaps lengthy heads-up battle for the last dollars. I dont care about the "honour" of winning an everyday online MTT, since I have won many already. The other purpose of making a deal is to reduce variance, if its a large tournament relative to your bankroll.

Depends what we are playing + if bounty is included...sometimes bounty is bigger than 1st place prize (money), than is goodbye chopping! 🙂

Yes my bad and from lack of sleep I should have said and meant "making a deal" not chopping.

Also thank-you admins/mods for moving this to the right section.

Cheers!!!

I apologize for the late reply to my vote but I did that on my phone and I prefer to write on a keyboard. I've taken chops/deals, and I've turned them down. The best one that I've been involved in was early last year at Filotimo (now Revo) casino in Manchester NH.

On the final table we decided to: Provide for the person on the bubble, guarantee the same payout for everyone, and give the first place finisher the normal payout plus some extra. I think that this was a fair way to handle the situation, and still allowed us to compete for the win. :)

I always offer a deal. I’ll even offer even payouts, if I’m a commanding chip lead and it’s a good deal for my opponent to get extra cash. It’s better for them and I don’t care about taking a cut.

sadly, i still haven’t experienced an 8-way chop at the start of the final table.

yes - if stacks are short & if I feel there's little to no skill edge/advantage, then I'll often take a deal. Helps to reduce variance.
I prefer to always leave something left to play for.

Sometimes the variance is large and the bankroll is small, - then it may be more profitable to make a deal by dividing the prize money...

If the money at stake is a lot , then I would chop . If the money was little , I wouldn't . Ofcourse in a SM kind of tourney I would be one of the first at the FT to ask for a deal, even with 9 players still playing )))

Yes, i believe it depends on the deal, sometimes you are far behind and the deal clearly favours you.
