Cardschat is doing the best to keep us involved in learning poker among the many things in place for us. Recently the Admins had come up with new feature called HOTW series, and according to my observation the community had not embraced that idea, and due to a lack of participation it may get discontinued. I would like to edge each one of us who is interested in learning poker to take this serious, as it is one of the ways to get involved with learning, and improve on the mistakes we are doing at the tables. On top of that, a hand which is selected, a member who had posted it get 5 VIP chips, is it not interesting? Come on guys... What are your thoughts, should it get discontinued?

I know this Hand of the Week challenge exists. And I know what it is about. But my habbits and interests do not match with it at this moment because:
- I do not participate in any challenges or Games involving VIP points only:
- Beside VIP program which I do not pay attention, I am also choosing carefully which CC freerolls and Special Events to participate:

In the past there was a very intriguing Scavenger Hunt Special Event involved with collecting some special hands. That is my zone ...

This really was a good idea. In my case, I haven't been playing lately, focused in other personal things.

Yes, thanks to @maronza1 for this feedback thread!

To answer your question Tammy:

I had never heard of this till today, i.e., 3 1/2 months after it started. I'm not sure how it was advertised, but it didn't catch my attention. I don't think I'm that different from many members - I have a few select threads that I follow and otherwise I look at the threads that show up when clicking on the "What's new" drop-down. If this came out at a time when I wasn't online I would easily have missed it. Even if I had seen it though, a title including "Hand of the Week" and "5 VIP Points" probably would not have interested me enough to click on it.

Like @Dejange above, I'm not a big collector of VIP points. And if I were, 5 points would not be a motivator for me. 50 points might interest me, not because I want the points but just because it would seem like my input to this particular activity is considered valuable to Cardschat. $10 would likely interest me. $25 would definitely interest me.

It's possible most people feel the same way given the very low activity level in the two threads.

When I play a hand that is it.
Move on down the road.
I could care less about it.
I might take a note about how the opponent played and that is as far as it gets.

Me too, more or less. I will think about particular hands afterwards though if it's against someone I'm familiar with. they're consistent and I expect to play against them again.

Some players who are very involved in post-game study will pick out problem hands to review later, or review whole sessions.

The value in these is that you could potentially get feedback on hands played from other members who may have more experience.

To be fair ive try to do it on my thread on differents ways.I try the gentle approach asking for opinions about the hands and i try the direct approach where i clearly give my opinion about a hands.

Gentle way people would just not answer and the direct way people will just get mad and post would be deleted.

Moral of this story sadly most of CC community is only there to pump away the cash they can get and dont really want to come to the forum to improve or to helps each other ^^ Thats explain the failure of this promotion when people can only win vip chips ^^

@Flyer35 I agree with you on your point man. But before we can talk of 50 VIP Chips we should consider the value of chips at first. There are items that one can redeem vip chips to get and im not a big fan of that because I know surely that will cost me. The VIP Chips value for me is on the ability to buy in to VIP exclusive tornaments and to redeem them for $10 cash.

This means that I cannot get anything with 5 VIP Chips, which most of the members see it that way too and as a result turn a blind eye to the program. One thing the mods should do is to make sure that VIP chips become more valuable, by increasing the events which requires vip chips. And by rewarding us with more VIP chips which may be able to buy in to a game.

On top of that, after a hand of the week is selected, a member which contributes more to a selected hand by analyzing it should also benefit with some chips, to encourage involvement to this series.

I have been replaying hands for mistakes in my game. Beleive me, I've found some in each tourny I've played. Some mistakes are just a little setback, others cost me a place ITM or eliminates me from the tourny. Its easy to see a mistake in hind sight, Studying the hands can help your game.
I don't know if the Promotion for posting your hand is still on or not but i don't know how to get the raw data required when you do post a hand. I know there's a "Share" link at the bottom and i know how to copy and paste but how to get the complete Raw Data, ????

Okay, I haven't really given this a fair shake. I'll key an eye out for a hand that I think would benefit from some review, post it and go from there. Can't honestly say whether something is good or not till you try it. At the very least @maronza1 has brought this out into the light, and I commend him for that. We're talking about it and that's half the battle.

It depends on the site, usually. But you can usually view a hand history and copy the info from it and paste it into our hand converter. Details of that is in the post that Maronza has linked in his first post.

I have heard about this tournament and would like to know more about it.
This isn't a tournament. Take a look at the link that maronza provided in his first post.

THe only reason I haven't participated in this (commenting on the hands) is because I'm unable to read the hand histories that have been posted. (I'm not signed up to Replay & don't want to at this point in time).
Is there a chance the hands could be posted via a screenshot as well? (or some other legible format).

I also just thought of an idea to perhaps generate some more interest. How about '2 hands of the week' and an additional 'bonus 1 for the month', giving them each a ticket to play in a monthly Private Home Game style SNG.... awarding prizes to the Top 3 (50%, 30%, 20%).
I think that could be exciting and maybe throw in a year-end game for each of the monthly winners?

@Poker Orifice
That is a very interesting suggestion, I think there is no problem posting screenshots as long as you describe each screenshot on how the hand had played out.

I dont think giving them tickets would be possible since Replay is the one in which most CC events are held. A year game is also an interesting idea, but it will depend on the participation of the community as a whole.

These are just my thoughts, we'll hear what Tammy has to say concerning that, and she is very happy for this thread 😊

I have no interest, I have played very little on Replay poker, many times I register for the tournament and end up being absent, either due to forgetfulness or due to my work on the railroad.

That is a fun idea! Unfortunately right now we won't be adding extra games like that. But something to keep in mind if our budget expands!

This is for @Poker Orifice too - it's not exclusive to Replay hands. It can be from any site that you play. Party, 888, pokerstars - those hand histories all work brilliantly with our hand converter as well. :)

Yes, absolutely! It's been very helpful for visibility, and I am very appreciative!

The hand replay issue at Replay is unfortunate. When I post a hand (for whatever reason) I usually try to add a screenshot of the final result. That makes it quick to see the hand and the reader doesn't actually have to open the hand replayer, which can be very, very slow. Another problem with it is that you don't always see both/all of the hands which makes the hand replay almost useless to anyone who doesn't know what the hands were. Again the screenshot gets around that.

Btw, I'm still planning on posting a hand to the thread. I just haven't been playing a lot lately.

The difficulty/problem (for me) is I'm unable to READ other member's posted HH from Replay... it's not about 'posting' the HH's (& I'm aware that they can be posted from any site).
I just thought if they wanted to add in a screenshot (or 2) when posting, I'd be willing to add feedback.
