Hold on to them like an old miser with his last few coins.

If you have five times small blind+ big blind or less in your stack preflop ,allin or fold is your only choices to avoid having a stack size that is insignificant.

What is a chip tube? 🤔

If you have very few chips, you might want to pay attention to how big the blinds are and how far away you are from the prizes, amongst other things. Like many aspects of poker, it usually isn't black or white and not as simple as just playing one style or another.

...you don't have time to be conservative or sit and wait... look for spots to get it in,

maybe google some shove charts, but generally it's short stack ninja time🥷

Just about everybody plays aggressively (if it can even be called that) in that situation, including myself. That said in my experience sitting and waiting is definitely the best plan. It just doesn't 'feel' like the right thing to do.

Wanna be a winning player who makes deep runs and not just who min cashes there's only one way. Aggressive.

Study and learn short stack shove and re-shove ranges(below 35-40bb) for every position at the table. Doesn't matter if you're playing MTT's or cash. Also study and learn ICM.

Cheers!!!

This primarily depends on your playing style. If you usually play aggressively, then I think it would be a mistake to start playing differently in such a situation. You have to play the way you play. Personally, I always wait for strong cards and try not to play with junk.

Every Chip you lose is more worth than every chip you win, so try to preserve your stack and use +EV spots to invest your chips.

Study your push fold charts. When you are short stacked you get to be gambling way more.

I think the most profitable strategy here would be push. Once you have a medium stack, you can play open raises

If you are short stack but you can hurt the other's stacks, you need to be aggressive, indeed (except in bounty games).

If everyone is short stack and you are in an early position and/or you are in danger to fall in bubble, you should be more conservative (specially in bounty games).

I usually play more tight, I wait for very good hands and then I play aggressively.
