Hello Poker Fans,

1735746177645

I decided to try my luck at playing freerolls and freebuys in the month of December. It was quite the shove fest and I was only able to win one $5.50 ticket.

My question to you is related to strategy adjustment;
  • Do you guys use a different strategy for freerolls and freebuys?
  • Do you rebuy in those tournaments or fire just one bullet?
  • Do you prefer to play the low buy-in satellites or just stick to the freerolls and freebuys?
I really want to get into the bigger MTT tournaments but my bankroll does not allow it and is growing so slowly :(

I have a $400 bankroll right now... See my Zero Bankroll Challenge thread for details on my journey!

I usually play the $1.00 Mystery Bounty Tournaments, freerolls and ring tables $0.80 1c/2c blinds.

What strategy should I use this year to grow my bankroll a bit faster?

What buy-in should I play based on my Bankroll?
Should I try the 2c/5c ring tables now or wait?

Look forward to hearing what works for you!

Advance thanks for your thoughts!

1 Divide your bankroll cash/MTT cash you can have 20buy-ins MTT you want 200 --If you play 2-5c then your cash bankroll needs to be $100 that leaves you with $1.50 buy-ins for MTT --you can balance this as you wish--- 100 buyins for MTT means you can play $3 MTT.

2 Low stakes cash games you get crushed by rake--So moving up based on your skill edge is the key to your decisions. So take shots at 5c 10c you do not have to jump up and grind but pick very good nights with lots of weaker players like Friday and Saturday and play then

Thanks for that bit of advice!

I will give it a whirl. For this quarter, I may not be able to play many MTT's or Freerolls, so probably a good idea to try the 2c/5c ring table. Hey, imagine that we are half way through the month and I have only played 5 times; 3 CC Freerolls and 2 MB tourney for $1.00 buy-in. That is way below my previous volume :(.

I need to fix that :D

Not having much luck here. Another couple of nights like this and it's back to freerolls for me.
