Anyone else ever feel like their aces never hold?

Just played a PKO and am in the money but fairly short stacked about 34th of 36 left in with 41800.

Blinds are 1750/3500 and Hero is in BB holding AA.

First round sees UTG+1 raise to 7000 and then folds to BTN who 3 bets to 21000.

Hero goes all in for 41800. UTG+1 folds and BTN calls and flips over pocket 10s.

Flop comes 10, 8, 7 rainbow and the set holds. I feel like it was the right play to go all in in this position but it seems like every time I lose to a middle pocket pair.

You played it right that’s what matters, It was unlucky. Did the BTN have you covered? What were the blinds. I don’t think I’d call a double reraise and put my whole game on TT so in my opinion that was a loose/bad call you had him completely crushed pre flop.

It seems sometimes AA never holds but it’s only that way because of how many hands you play and how quickly. I’m would put money on the fact that you’ve called and beat someone with AA with a lesser hand. It doesn’t stop it being a strong hand; and it shouldn’t stop you from continuing to play it correctly. If you had been first to act, I would hope that you wouldn’t have gone all in straight off the bat. But with action I think you did the right thing.

Leave it where it is, be content you played it right and on to the next :)

Thanks :) I know it was the right play, just needed to vent

Blinds were 1750/3500. Villain had me well covered to be fair - he was sitting on 200k+ so I guess he called wider than normal to go for the bounty (I’d KOd a few so had a reasonable price on my head). I guess he also thought I was nearing being down to 10BB so might have been punting with Ax or something

I just saw an opportunity to potentially double up and get back to around 25 BB and figured I might not get another chance.

Ahh the bounty makes a huge difference. I’ve only recently started playing bounty games because of the ‘bounty whores’ (as my husband calls them). People are so focused on the bounties they do call light, especially if it’s a big bounty and they have a big stack. If he had you covered with enough to still be comfortable it’s understandable. It adds a whole other dimension and risk play.

It’s so annoying when you get so deep and miss out especially with the best hand, especially if you’ve been patient and waited for a hand. I hope you managed to recoup some of your buy in at least with bounties. At least he had a pair, not some nonsense 59 off for a miracle straight lol ;)

caught AA on any raise, go Aline and tma as soon as the card falls and don't rack your brain before the flop

Och they lose around half the time, to straights flushes random 2 pairs just play them dependent on the board

I hate pocket kings just because of this reason. I would jam with kings when I'm short stacked and lose to some weak aces like ace deuce or ace seven. Very frustrating when that happens.
