Volume. You can't win if you don't play. If there are 100 players, you on average will win one of 100 games you play. So play 100 game and you will end up ITM. If there are 4000 entrants, you have a 1 in 4000 chance of winning, so you may have to play 4000 games before you win 1 tournament. You will definitely end up ITM after playing 4000 games.

I agree , don't be afraid to risk your tournament life in some spots , MTTs pay good up top. So risk must be an irremovable part of you strategy. Putting volume is mandatory because you will take those spot without overthinking them and if you lose some of them would be ok for you to digest. After that ITM and final tables will come , trust me!

In a big MTT tourney, you have to take big chances to get a BR early so you can play a decemt amount of hands. To get ITM, you also have to play smartly. Throw away the unsuited junconnecting juink aces, random number hands, say 83o, etc. Try to wait for a hand you can set a trap with: high connectors, high flush, etc. Playing 109o because you are UTG, and getting capped when AKQ comes on the flop, followed by 10 on turn and 2 on the river. Of course opponent makes an ace high straight, and you lose. Best to make those early moves, so you don't get

Firstly you should start by playing the easiest games available, or the ones for the smallest buy ins.....ideally free. You could start with the CC 888 or partypoker games, as they have small fields, and are free so yu can learn without losing.
If you want to play on GG, then try the tournament builder games 0.25 and maybe 0.50. These games are nice and soft, but you will need to play very tight and do not bluff.....as players will cal at lowest stakes with not very much.

Try to focus on your decision making rather than on hand to hand results, if you are getting nervous as the ITM bubble approaches, keep in mind that just finishing in the money, only gets a bit more than your buy in returned, so no reason to panic.

I don't think an aggressive strategy is suitable for a beginner; if you just play aggressively without understanding where to use it and where not, you will definitely not get any further than usual.
