Hasty decisions. Sometimes I can make hasty, rash, intuitive decisions that often lead to losses. I work on myself and try to always play deliberately and take my time, but sometimes I still make mistakes and the main reason is haste.

Even though it sounds backwards. I agree with rsparente, if I am hyper-focused on the game. I often get anxious waiting for a good hand and play bad hands badly.

Find something you can do while you play that doesn't take too much attention, but keeps you from getting bored. I like to either play multiple tables or listen to an audiobook.

Anything you can do to distract yourself slightly while still being able to pay enough attention to get a read on players style of play and what not. It really helps me keep my patience and wait for good hands.

Focus on the moment is important in this game. Always be in the moment. When you are not in the hand you need to pay attention to what your opponents are doing, otherwise how will you ever know what style they are playing. I used to find myself getting frustrated at bad beats and so forth throughout a game. Needless to say, it had an impact on my performance in the following hands, and inevitably it lead to more beats due to some less than rational plays.

It took me a while to stop this mindset. Now I play each hand as if it was my first. Whatever has happened in the previous hand is forgotten about as soon as the next hand is dealt. It took some time to switch to this sort of mentality but it helped my game immensely.
