I just read a thread that was bang on the money. If I'm serene with my home and work life ill place top 10 in every tournament, mi us a bad beat here and there. If the wife and I are bickering back and forth for a couple hours prior to game time then I make call and folds from the emotional side of my brain. Discipline and reason leave and so does your ability to play.
On game day surround yourself with positive people and that might help keep your stats up

Yea I would say most players play with emotions and make decisions based on emotions rather than good poker logic. Maybe not most, but unstudied players for sure. Keeping emotions cool and calm throughout your session makes you unbeatable inside. Have fun and be fascinated by the weirdness you see instead of getting frustrated.

This is very true, a few days ago I was talking to my son about something similar, I told him that you can't play tournaments with negative thoughts, like: I'm not going to win, what if I lose? Another thing is to be in harmony and tranquility, I have had moments that for some reason let's say that I am a little annoying and that negatively influences my game, I am not saying that having a good attitude and positive thoughts always make me win, but that definitely influences a lot how to play

Hmm that is an unusual situation. Are you saying "lucky at cards, unlucky at love" does not always apply?

Hi :)
I never start a game if I feel stressed or angry. Such negative emotions only hurt and in most cases, instead of enjoying the game, you will get losses and disappointment. In my opinion, poker should be played in a good mood and on a positive wave :)

Yes, it's true, you only need to play poker in a good mood, when you sit down at the table after an argument with your wife or just in a bad mood, you usually take steps towards tilt and the tournament ends quickly not in your favor, you make many more mistakes
