Do you tend to play cautiously or aggressively when approaching the bubble?

I think I play too aggressively near the bubble, which often makes me the bubble boy. How do you adjust your strategy when approaching the bubble? For instance, would you fold AQs with 12bb pre-flop if it’s the bubble?

There's nothing wrong in being the buble boy if you are also able to do deep runs.
12bb's won't carry you to the final table and you need to win chips to get there.

depends on my bubble stack, if the stack is short I will play carefully, if the stack is large I will play aggressively

In the bubble, the majority usually tend to play more cautiously in order to get into the money, especially those who are short on chips.

The result in poker is money. Having learned this, you understand that it is better to get into ITM than to fly out. Most of the time I wait for ITM. Such a game lulls and surprises the opponents at the same time.

If I'm running great the whole tourney, AQs on the bubble, I'd play it for sure, unless the devil on my shoulder says, "your luck is due to run out, fold it."

In the long run i think it would be very profitable to be aggressive near the bubble. Because the most players are defensive and would catch the first goal the wonderful itm. In these situations the players overfold alot. Especially the players which are in the last 10% percent of the chipsstake. If you had position on these players you could accumulate chips and build some nice extra stake, which is important in the end period of a tourney. Sometimes you would be the bubble boy but in most of the games you build stake and getting better position to generat more money.

I think it's better to go deep than to min cash, a lot depends on the payouts, players, stacks, position, action

etc. of course but to answer your question generally if I have 12bbs and AQs I'm not looking to fold👍

No, I will never fold such a hand, even if it's a bubble. If you're going to fold AQ in such a situation with 12 blinds in the stack, then you should definitely find another hobby :)

No rules - I can't tell you, always is different - it depends on who is at the table, how they play, how I'm going to play...Nope, I wouldn't fold that AQ! ;)

100% aggressive always as i have learnt over time that folding premiums when you can make easy chips just to min cash is futile, get your self in the game and look for those spots to build that stack for a deeper run. The only cautionary tale is when big stacks play wide and very marginal hands - so stack off and make them pay to play i say! ARR!!

Got to be aggressive around the bubble, often you will take the pot uncontested as a lot of people do tend to tighten up. Better to go for the win than a min-cash

Consider stack sizes. Knowing your stack sizes and those of your opponents is key. If you have a big stack, you can use it to attack weaker players and push them out of the tournament. If you have a small stack, you will have to be more conservative in your decision making.Avoid risky situations. On the bubble, you shouldn't get into big conflicts and risk your entire stack if alternative solutions are available. Remember, the main goal is to get into the prize zone.

I don't know how to play, I'm almost always a bubble boy.
I play aggressively, I get killed, I play safe, I get killed.

It depends on chip stakes. I play not very aggressively but I don't wait much time to get strong cards. Sometimes you must play aggressively, especially with players who have small stakes. Sometimes they go very often all-in, even with bad pocket cards.

I evaluate the risks for each specific situation, taking into account who my opponents are, how they played before, and I usually evaluate my chances. But with 12 blinds and a hand like AQ, I will definitely play :)

I tend to ramp up the aggression in an effort to gain as many chips as possible as most players will tighten up, overfold and just play way more passive hoping to min cash. Where as I IDGAF about a min cash as it changes nothing for me and I'm not playing to pad my stats and make my ITM% look good.

The best way to make a deep run, make the final table and win is by accumulating as many chips as possible. If guys are just gonna hand them to me close too the bubble and accept a min cash in return I'll take all the free chips.

Cheers!!!

It often depends on how I feel the table will react to my play and then take it from there.

Of course cautiously, although it often is a great mistake.
