Welcome to Cardschat as this looks like your first post. My suggestion would be to make the quality posts so that you can play in freerolls everyday associated with Cardschat. They are different from your average freeroll in the sense there are some better players but also still some typical freeroll players. The advantage is they are daily and the fields are smaller.

As far as success building a bankroll from freerolls only... yes you can do it but dont expect multiple thousand of dollar bankroll and dont expect it to happen overnight. My suggestion if you are going to go this route is to build a bankroll of $15 or so and then start playing $1 or less tournaments but dont start playing buy in tournaments with less than that. Get somewhat of a roll where you know you can bounce from this tournament and still play other buy in tournaments if you want. This way you play more normal instead of nit life-ing thinking you have to cash this tournament or x % of your roll is gone. You will have to be patient with the process if this is the road you want to go down but it can be done, it just takes time.

I've never deposited on ACR either but my bankroll is also nothing to brag about. I mostly play micros with an occasional stab here or there because I dont play poker to make money (I am not good enough) but play more for fun and recreation and whatever money comes from it no matter how small is a bonus.

If you are looking to use poker as an income source then I think you will need to deposit money and start playing larger tournaments otherwise you will spin your wheels so to speak and take a lot of time building any kind of decent roll off just freerolls. You need to define to yourself the reason why you are playing online poker and then from there you make the right decision about playing freerolls and not depositing.

The suggestion above about doing what is necessary to qualify for CC free rolls is a very good one.
The main thing to remember about free rolls, especially if you have discretionary funds to deposit on a site or 3, is the very large investment in time required relative to the small return in $. CC has mostly smaller fields & relatively nice payouts.
Welcome to the forum & good luck.

If you lost money, you are obviously not only playing freerools. So I guess, what you really mean, is "build a bankroll without depositing". With access to the CC platinum freerolls this can be done but takes a lot of time. Be aware that you might need to make a small deposit and have your account verified, before you can withdraw. Its best to get this done early, so that a request for withdrawing money will not be put on hold.

Good luck !!!
Too much volume needed to build a bankroll from freerolls. Also depends on quality of players at freeroll games. If the field is weak, then it might be a bit easy.

An interesting challenge, and most importantly, your goal is absolutely real. I have already created a bankroll several times playing in freerolls and I have seen from my own experience that it is real. The main thing is probably patience.

Building a bankroll from freerolls is definitely possible. It can only take a long time to build an acceptable bankroll. The variance in poker tournaments is very high and in freerolls it is even higher than in buy-in tournaments. You play against a lot of opponents and most of them play very loose. They often go all in preflop even if they still have enough chips. That's why it's best to go all in pre-flop with your power hands so that you can sort out a few players. If you just raise there can be a lot of opponents calling and you will look old even with aces when you have 4 opponents. With 4 opponents your equity is below 50% even with aces.

As Fundiver mentioned above you are not building a roll from freerolls only but playing both freerolls and buy in tournaments. The $80 you won was from a buy in tourney (nice win btw and congrats). That is not to demean or diminish what you have done but there is a large difference between only playing freerolls to build a bankroll vs using freeroll winnings to then play in other tournaments that are buy ins and using freerolls as a satellite of sorts.

Using only freerolls to build a roll will take time as I and others have mentioned above. If you plan to play buy ins as well then it will take little time or a lot of time to build a roll depending on your skills and game selection.

Either way, good luck and dont be afraid to add to this thread your updates. People on this forum root for others. Very rarely will you come across someone who is hoping you fail.

So yeah, your subject and content are different, that's why you're catching the minor bits of flack. Freerolls only is just tough, but the way you're doing it without depositing is the way most do it anyway. Congrats on the $80 win by the way, you have an excellent start going. I just like playing, so the no deposit thing is the way i go as well. Always interested in hearing how others are doing on that same plan.

This sounds like a fun project/endeavor! Id say the main thing to remember is that freerolls are bottom of the barrel talentwise(in general). So if you are doing well in those, id suggest using the winnings on $1 mtts and move up from there. Ill be following you, looks fun!

Building on a smoothly possible bankroll with freerolls, there are also CCs here who I think did it. The point is perseverance and discipline.
Good luck.

I have been doing this (no deposits) for over a year now, and have had a little success. The sites I play are pokerstars, ACR, 888 Poker. and GG Poker. On PS I just play the CC free rolls and have been lucky enough to get up to $68 and now I also play $1.50 MTT 18 players and that keeps my bankroll alive. The ACR and 888 free rolls usually have more participants and smaller payouts but getting ITM is fairly easy. There are few Freerolls on GG Poker but players get a daily freebee entry into a Battle Royal or a Spin N Gold. I guess the bottom line is I don't deposit $$$ I play at least 5 tourneys a day as well as a few Zoom games and I have small bankrolls in all the sites I play. Don't expect to retire on my earnings but I do get to play a lot and win a bit...good luck:):):)

With your first deposit, it will take you much less time to move up the limits. If you have played only freerolls before, you have probably noticed that most of the players in these tournaments treat the game as a lottery. Skill in tournaments like this is often irrelevant. You can lose tournament after tournament, even if you improve your game, read articles, watch videos. Playing "for candy wrappers" forms a wrong style of play and a distorted attitude towards poker in general. Perhaps you already consider yourself a bad player, and you also think that in poker you can win only through luck. This is not true! Freerolls for several thousand people are not the best place to improve your poker skills. With your first deposit, you can start your poker career and win money.

Hey Timmwinslow! I think you chose the right poker room to try this challenge! ACR as I'm sure you already know has I think 5 or 6 in house freerolls everyday. As I've seen a few people on here already say though is to get into all the CardsChat freerolls and work your way up to the silver and platinum level freerolls, (which I am working on doing right now)! ACR freerolls as well as the CardsChat freerolls and you will have a healthy bankroll in no time! Good luck on your journey!

I guess I misspoke / no deposits / just freeroll winnings / average free roll win is less than a dollar a that would take forever - but *technically everything I have is from freeroll a still - I just reinvested the winnings

I always do that and I have had good results, I am not going to tell you that I win the tournaments, but little by little I do a bit of banking and in my opinion I am doing very well, I have done that 2 times in ACR, the rest in other rooms like 888poker or pokerstars, good luck in your personal challenge

I have ran up $0 to $400ish in a week on ACR but I tilted it all off over time 'cause I suck. I should've took my time and study more but I'm dumb. Good luck, dont be me.

Added:
I won a freeroll and used that to buy into bigger tournaments.

Making a no deposit bankroll build should escalate fast. You have to win 1 or 2 freerolls on ACR, you get $7-$10 for a freeroll win with 24 NLH freerolls a week (24 PLO as well). After you win 1 tournament you will have 7 attempts to win a micro tournament such as $1,000 GTD micro tournament. As long as you place top 72 you will double your buy in. Use all of your profits from the micro tournaments to enter medium satellites to a high tournament such as Venom Fever MEGA. Rinse and repeat until you can place in the money on a major online tournament. Boom bankroll built. At least that is how I am attempting to build mine. How should I adjust my plan?
