9 player sit n' go strategy?

Recently I'm really into playing 50c 9 players sit n' gos on pokerstars. Any suggestions for where I can find some good basic SNG strategy, or if you yourself have some tips to give, it would be much appreciated.

i suggest "reading sit n go strategy" by Collin Moshman. Also pokerstrategy.com has a nice series on basic sit n go strategy. there is also sitngoplanet which has a nice blueprint. My biggest tip for you is to learn and absorb all you can about icm and bubble play. early and mid game play is generally VERY tight unless you find yourself in the big stack.

Play very, very tight in the early and middle stage. Use only monster hands to be involved. This. Your SnG early stage range should tighter than your cash game range, or even your early stage MTT range. And yeah, try not to get into expensive flops. If people are driving the action so much that you can't get any cheap flops at all, well...sooner or later only one person driving that action will be left, since there's only 9 of you (or 10 in a Double or Nothing) to begin with.

I can't add much to these, as i wanted to say nearly the same. But i still want to add, that AFAIK there are only 50c turbo SNGs. Which is a bad bad format. I'm not a fan of turbo tournaments at all and i think as a thoughtful player you will have only disadvantages at such games. The thing is, obviously the faster blinds are increasing, the faster it brings you to the "push or fold" phase. Where is more place for luck, than for poker skills and moves. So i do prefer to play for a longer time, but having as much opportunities as i can to overplay my weaker opponents. So on your place i would move up to $1.50 standard SNG (which have 10min blind levels). So you get most advantages from your poker skills. If it's too boring for you, you might try to open several of such tables, but playing turbo SNG is simply a giving advantages to weaker player to get lucky against you and is -EV on a distance.

Be very careful with calls.
Often go all-in if the first bet to the Bank.
If You have a large stack, play aggressive.
Play very tight against the big stacks.
Attack players with a stack close to yours.
At short stack play, as a player with a medium stack when you go all-in and as a player with a big stack when making the call.
After the flop bet with more hands.
Follow the guidelines on the game after the flop, given in article 3.

I mean, if you have the right strategy it isn't -EV, is it? Playing very tight at first, and getting into the push/fold game later on should make some money at these low stakes, if you are decent at SNGs. But I definitely agree to your point that it takes a lot of skill away and is less profitable than standard SNGs. But it fits better in to my playing style, I didn't like playing the standard ones.

I play a lot of 9 mans on acr $3.30-$5.50s mostly.I am extremely tight in them.Most of the players I play against are regs so easier for me to adjust.I would suggest watching some videos on youtube there are plenty of good sng players on there that have them up.Gl

I always play a little lose at the beginning, when the blinds are small. Once I have doubled up, I play tight. I only play excellent hands until theirs 3 or less left in the room.

Definitely loose at the beginning with minimum raises to see what the energy of the table is going to be. Once you do this you will pretty much always get called when you have strong hands as well. Once you triple up you can stop playing until the others work it out. Just wait for a monster. Once payouts are made, resume loose play.

hello friend its depends you play hyper,turbo,or regular.. they have strategy each..
if its hyper we need to be little bit losse bcouse blinds going up fast so we have take some changes and take some risk in it..,turbo little bit tight,if its reguler then it must be very fuking tight.. thx and good luck

My strategy for 9 player sit and go is tight and aggressive.

That has been my strategy because I cannot compete against other loose players.

It has forced me to play better hands and a limited range because players keep calling my bets.
