What do you think about this 24h-long late reg for the $7.5M Sunday Million? Isn't it a bit too much? Out of the starting 36k players there are only 6.6k left now (Ok, it will still grow to maybe 8k I guess before the play resumes) and the ITM is already at 5.5k players. It's rough if you enter now with 1K/2K (250) blinds with 20k starting but still doable and you can 'quickly' reach ITM.
I feel as it was a bit miscalculated by PS as ITM was almost reached during the late reg. period.
Or maybe they just wanted to push the number of participants so that they will eventually go over the Gtd prize pool risking that they enter ITM before the end of late reg.?

Also, what would happen in that case? Has any of you seen such a case before? The close the late.reg when entered the bubble/ITM?

Anniversary Editions of the Sm always have a ridiculously long late reg period.
I will definetly try it still.
Cheap sattys running still .
Especially the 4x shootout for 90 cent is a good opportunity.

Gosh, good luck though! Unfortunately it's out of my budget to simply enter so I should have also tried with satellites, but I'm now playing on $0.25-$0.50 usually so just to play on a $0.90 sat also needs consideration. Maybe on the 18th Anniversary 😂

Not at all. It is normal for big tournaments. This is what is called Day 1.

There is no miscalculation by PS who has been running these tournament for years. Even late registration for Day 2 is not guaranteed ITM as you have to contend with high average stacks.

Good Luck to all Cardschatters on this tournament. Difficult grinds & huge buy-ins for grand rewards, this is the dream of poker players!

Its not really "24 hours of late registration", since there is an extended break between day 1 and day 2. And from a commercial standpoint I can see, why they want to allow people to not register until the start of day 2, rather than closing late registration say 30 minutes before the end of day 1. Late registration with a 10BB is fairly normal, and what seem more unusual here is the fact, so many players have already busted.

Also this is presumably a PKO, so even if someone was to register in the last minute and then fold their way to a min-cash, they would typically not even get their money back. Plus its not going to be easy, when, as you say, maybe the field will grow by another 1k players or more due to other people trying to do the same. So I would not even recommend trying this, as I generally dont recommend entering any MTT this late, unless there is a big overlay.

Thought so too since all SMs are Pko now but the anniversary edition is an exception. No bounties :/

Ok. Then there is an ICM reward for last minute registration, when a large percentage of the field has already busted. Can be considered a bit unfair to people, who registered early. But as others have said, with a once a year even like this the main priority is likely to get the price pool as big as possible.

I never liked late registrations , not even for special games like the SM SE . Playing directly SM is out of question for me , against my bankroll limits . So I have tried some sats . There were many indeed . I wasn't lucky . Sats running even from just $0.50 or $1 .

yes its a lot because all the players who had registered 24 later only had 10 bb left making it very difficult to build a good stack with such a low initial stack.

While its not a true 24 hour late registration I can help but wonder if they will do one like that sometime in the future. Some of these late registrations have gotten a bit to much.

ACR is a far larger offender than PS though. Even many of the featured MTTs on pokerstars like "Big" or "Bounty Builder" have less than 2 hours of late registration. And there are also many turbos and hyperturbos for those, who think, that is still to much.
