Thanks, I surely called.. he showed AK and the A came in the river. I did not regret calling but I have not studied many spots like this pre-bubble with several short stacks.. and wanted to double check it with you guys… ! Feel better now, next time they’ll hold! cheers, thank you
Kind of proves my point to Fold then? Nothing is a sure thing in Poker, I have learned that from 20 odd years of playing, but there comes a time when you stop playing your hand and play the player. I was heads up in a Tournament, and chip leader by a long mile when my opponent shoved all in and I instantly called. Now I make it a rule never to look at my cards until it is my turn to act, so had not looked before I called,
The dealer turned the cards over, firstly the A/K suited of my opponent, then my 6/2 off, Everyone laughed at my hand when it was shown, and I spiked a 2 on the River, they soon stopped laughing.
If I had taken the time to look at my cards, I am sure I would have folded 6/2 off, but trusting in the Poker Gods I didn't bother, I just didn't give a damn one way or the other, I had enough of a lead to double my opponent up 3 or 4 times without it doing me any real damage. If you had folded your hand you may have been in the money, in my case I won it, not by playing my hand, but by calling when he was in trouble!
