Situation: You are already in the money but will make $7 more if you outlast PB51. You have enough for two more rounds at the table where he has 3 hands before he is forced all-in due to BB. Even if he doubles up he will still be behind you in chips. What do you do here and why? I will post what I did later.

pokerstars Game #5318127677: Tournament #26801961, $5.00+$0.50 Hold'em No Limit - Level XII (1000/2000) - 2006/06/21 - 02:22:20 (ET)

Shove the chips all-in without a second thought. I want first not 6th, you've more than likely got the best hand and there are 3,600 chips sitting in the middle to be taken. You've got enough of a stack to put the chip leader off calling, and if he does call there's every chance you've got the best hand and can win a monster pot. No brainer!

I would push all in, not HIM all in. Chances are, not too many players will call since they are playing tight and want to win as much money as possible by staying in the tournament and go up a few more places. Even if one player calls you you're still in good shape preflop (unless they have (A, Q) (A, K) (K,K) (Q,Q) (J,J).

Anything other than a push here is terrible.

i was hoping i was going to see all in in the replies here :)
i completely agree - you have only 3.5 bbs, and at this point I'm looking for any reason to steal the blinds, or to double up. Looking down at AJ UTG, that's an immediate push for me.

Go for the gusto, i say :)

Total pot 17562 | Rake 0
Board [2s 7d Qs Ad 6d]
Seat 1: merc250 (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 2: BIGPAPA26 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: titans4ever showed [Jd As] and lost with a pair of Aces
Seat 6: PB51 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 8: Camz2895 (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: bru99 (small blind) showed [7h Ah] and won (17562) with two pair, Aces and Sevens

Dominated him and lost. I would not have felt so bad except the last three hands I played I had someone all-in against me and had them Ax to undercards and lost all 3 races. I went from chip leader to 6th in 5 hands.

Unlucky draw. You had the best hand preflop and had him dominated. By luck he pairs his lower kicker. Tough luck. At least you won some money.
