There is a good site on GTO wizard on calculation called

"The Theory of Progressive Knockout Tournaments"​

perhaps that helps a bit but I think KQs may be a call, KQo may be a fold.

It may also depend on the bounty that is on his head. I don't think a star bounty is worth it.

What makes you think it's a pko?


It would be a mistake to raise/fold to the shortstack here, especially for only an extra 3.5 bbs

If he made no mistake in the game description it is bounty.

If you run into the nuts (JJ+, AKs/o AQs and maybe AJs) his stack is only half sized and all are on the hunt for your bounty a bad situation.

Luck gambling is made too often in bounty tournaments, imo.

If you're going to raise/fold to a 5.5bb all in then the obvious play is to just fold the KQo pre without putting a chip in.

Well if you play GTO wizard like then you should play your KQ o/s with a push at this stack size.
But to say it clearly, at this stake is GTO normally not the main consideration.
Very little raises, it's mostly a call or AI strategy, CHIP EV wise (no ICM/no Bounty),
I have not paid for GTO wizard only free version, so asymmetrical stack size are also not supported:



On a raise 2BB(B2) from HJ the answer of CO is Chip EV wise something like this:



So my first idea was a bit thight with the reaction of CO, but it's only Chip EV without ICM and bounty in the view.

And the answer from HJ is this: because the B2 are very little amount of combos:


With the All In Option of the HJ the answer of the CO is CHipEV wise:



KQo may be not the best option and you have to consider if it is worth it.
Question is would any of those other players(BTN mainly because he covers both HJ and CO) fold if the AI came from HJ.

i dont wanna make huge essay which is basically required to understand mechanics of this spot, so ill just briefly touch on some aspects . . .
so in essence u just jam it.
limp strat is usually built for weaker hands in range and when you dont get enough folds with both raising strat and jamming strat. hence <20bb we start building limping strat with JT QJ etc type of hand . . .
so basically limp if there is massive bounty present and you wanna expand their vpip range or there are bunch of bigger stacks who will vpip vs u regardless of what u do.
Hope this at least gives some food for thought as i dont expect to clarify thinking process in these notes. Good Luck!

No reason to go with the min-bet. 3$ MTT is a very low level, and just in the money people could go and make your action multiway, maybe even more way which is supposed to favour you. Go and stole those BB's, or just test your cards strenght face to face. 💪
