Hey forum,

I've sattied in a $109 last Sunday.

After a slow start, I had finally stacked up to around 3x starting stack and could smell ITM already. But still an hour to go until end of late reg. 😴

But as late reg was about to close, my cards didn't come anymore and flops were missed.

So the situation goes as follows:
Late reg has closed already but still an hour or so to go until end of late reg.

I've been sitting at the same table for a while and to my left there's an aggressive bit stack with a wide-ish range. His stats were something like 28/20 and 15 3-bet.

He 3-bet quite frequently but folded to most 4-bets.

The hand in question goes as follows:
I'm sitting in MP with 26 BBs and get dealt AJs. UTG folds and I open to 2 BBs.
Aggro villian 3-bets to 5 BBs.

What's your move here?

His size bothered me:
Usually he went to 3x before and now it's only 2.5.
Since I've 4-bet jammed on him with AKs before twice, this could mean he wants to either limit his loss or has a monster and wants me to call.

Happy to hear your thoughts

Do you mean a big stack, such that you have the effective stack?

I do not think that you're shallow enough to 4 bet jam and not with AJs, so this would be a call and see the flop for me.

Against someone with these stats I 4-bet jam AJs all day, especially since you are still far from the money. I dont read to much into his sizing. Many good players reduce their 3-bet sizing, when the effective stack gets shorter. So I think, you have fold equity, and if he happen to have it this time, you can still suck out on him. Its only a real disaster, if he has AA, and in that case its just your time to die :)

In this case, you have to play aggressively against the aggressive player, especially if you have A-J.
