You should expect to get called a lot in a $1 MTT and bust out ~70% of the time when you do, but you have a desperately short stack and are forced to make desperation moves. I suspect your play is slightly +EV despite the high variance. If I get chance later I might work out your estimated EV (it all comes down to what parts of villain's range will fold).

A note on using GTO to 'prove you made the correct play', be very careful using it like that. Yes T9o is a call against a perfect GTO opponent who can fold correctly post flop, vs a human who can't, T9o may just be a fold preflop as the correct exploit against them (Maybe someone with full GTO could do the relevant node locking and run a full sim?)
So yes ,your call preflop was theoretically correct but may not have been correct in practice.
