What was your thinking on the river? What did you think you are getting value from? What low's do you expect to fold on the river in a 55c?

I was short stacked and I committed to the pot after turn, where my hand is 2 pair. I knew I lost the low after river, I thought I would get high, and couldn't do anything. But I was amazed how the villain called through out the hand ??

would you play like the villain ??
do I need to check fold from the start, despite being short stacked ?? (wait for a better hand to go aggressive or Allin)

You are not "pot committed" on the river, you have 7.5bb left which is still playable in a PLO8 MTT, it's easy to 3 or 4x your stack in the next few hands at PLO8! You do not have to throw a chance at coming back away just because you've put the majority of your stack in.

You overplayed your hand on the turn IMHO. You are blasting hoping to win half the pot at best when you could be dead right here to a made flush and low draw. I think the old adage of "play to scoop" applies, something you're never going to do with a marginal high and no low.

Villain played like a fish, he has a bit of a high and a low draw so is unlikely to fold, but that's what most do at PLO8 micro buy ins - I've seen some really horrible stuff. I guess a lot of people are clueless on the game. You need to factor this into your play, you have no fold equity but this makes getting value easy, just make sure you are doing so with hands that have at least a good chance of scooping.

You are right, I overplayed the hand. Sometimes I do mistakes when nothing is going on my way, I have to control myself. I have seen couple of guys rebuy 6-8 times and reach the final table. Damn micros !!!

When learning to play PLO8 we want to understand our hand strengths---Your hand is strongest on high boards AKT 3 high cards +5 If you had AK52 your had would be stronger on low boards A52 low cards

So when we see this flop we ask ourselves is this a strong board for my hand? Is it?
If yes why are we checking?
If no and we check why would we now want to bet turn with two pair K5? The flush draw is still there for Villain to hit and now they can have a low draw as well and we cannot make a low. We do not have a strong show down hand and it is very unlikely that our V will fold turn at this buy-in level.
Our hand was stronger on the flop then on the turn because V would have to chase 2 cards to get the low and would be much more likely to fold weak low draws such as what they had when we pot flop which is a good flop for our hand. When called we shut down and try to see a clean river two pair is a very weak hand in PLO8 when our V want to see all streets.

Yes get a grip on the mental side. PLO8 can be frustrating! But stay disciplined and you are well ahead of the majority of micro players.
Have some patience and wait for better hands even if you have not played a hand in a few orbits, like I say you can get in a multiway pot with a good hand and 2/3/4x your stack vs players that get caught with middling highs and lows.

I think in PLO8 more than any other form of poker you mustn't get married to what was a good starting hand, if the board goes sour for you then just let go. I see so many players go mad with a A2xx hand, they'll hit a J42 flop and just not want to give up when they clearly should.

Thank you. You pointed out my mistake on the flop and also told me some good points. Not only that I made mistakes on every street. I will try to avoid those mistakes.
