I'm so pumped about this. Definitely is what they had to do to keep us Reds fans happy!

Also noticed you play at Hollywood. I'm thinking about starting to play there...how is the action there?

If you play the 1/2 NL, its pretty soft overall. The 1/3 has been getting a lotta of the 2/5 regulars bleeding over into it, so its a bit tougher in general than it used to be. All tables in the room are 9 handed so it can be a bit annoying if your at a table with a wandering soul or two. I generally call ahead when Im on my way to get on the list and they will hold your spot for an hour and then you just go to the desk and checkin on arrival. You get $1 an hour for comps and the dealer swipes your card in when you sit down. Also forgot to mention if money is not an issue, there is the 2/5 game(plays pretty big but lots of regs) and then the 1/3/5 PLO or 2/5 PLO(plays very big..thousands in front of everyone typically). I like to get down as often as I can and living within a half hour of the place off the 275 loop does not help lol! I hope this helps but if I can tell you anything else, let me know. Oh, as far as eating, all you can get at the table is assorted cold crap from the mini cart that serves hot dogs, pretzels, and the like. The 24 cafe is not bad, but if you have time, the Hollywood Marquee is an Applebees level or above restaurant just outside the casino, and if you wanna eat fancy, the Final Cut Steakhouse is right down from the Marquee... I will just say that the filet was 34-36 bucks so that tells ya a bit about it... Everyone seems to love it though. Just curious, where do you play currently?

Always nice when someone other than the top 4 or 5 teams is able to hang on to one of their good ones.
Enjoy. :)

Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it. I actually haven't played much poker at a casino, only once, which was at the Hollywood over a year ago. Was mainly an online player for sit and gos and occasionally played in tourneys. I'm looking to start playing live tourneys and cash games. Sounds like the cash games are pretty good at the Hollywood. Do you know how many people usually play the nightly tourneys? It's very possible I'll start playing at the Hollywood, since I don't live far from there!

Your welcome. I love playing live myself. Yes online is instant and convenient but I enjoy the atomosphere....As for your question, depends on the tourney...For the Sunday a.m., Wednesday p.m.(10K grtd $150 buyin, 8K chips, 30 minute blinds, lots of 2/5 NL players) Friday night bounty($125 buyin, 6K chips, 20 minute blinds), and Saturday night($80 buyin, 6K chips, 20 minute blinds) tend to have about 100-150 players and sometimes more. Best to get there when registration starts an hour before so you dont end up as alternate and have to wait to play. the PLO high only on Tuesday p.m. and the PLO high/low on Saturday a.m. both average 30-40 with lots of regulars from the Omaha games. The remaining tourneys will typically have from 60-100 depending on a variiety of factors. Overall tourneys here like cash games are pretty soft. Obvious dead giveaway if your a reg, is if dealers call you by name before they see your players card/tourney receipt. Im glad its so close. With online poker being what it is for U.S. players, having a nice room nearby is great. Oh, and this does not seem to have made any difference to people overall, but they are no longer a WPT room. This gives them the option to offer seats to wsop or WPT or other events as well. Hope to see you there one of these times.

Haven't been able to make it there yet, hopefully I'll be able to go soon! I'd like to play one of those tourneys, I like how the starting stacks are good size. I remember reading about their being a Tri-State poker tourney series earlier, hopefully there is another tourney series sometime soon! Would be pretty cool to take a shot or two in one of those.

They having another series in August. Structure and events tend to stay the same for all 3 series they run. You can start registering about 2 weeks ahead of time for the August series...it will save you a ton of time waiting in line on tourney day.
