Whether you are a Dodger fan or not, the news that Vin Scully is returning for a 66th season to call Dodger games is amazing news for baseball. For me, some of my earliest memories of watching baseball games was in the 80's, when NBC has their game of the week, long before the advent of being able to watch baseball every day on TV. Vin Scully used to call the games with Joe Garagiola, another legend of the game too.
To have that kind of longevity in the game, and to still do a great job at age 86, well, it just speaks to how talented he was and still is, and to be blessed to do something that he obviously loves doing.
I loved watching those NBC games of the week back then and I still try and catch him now and again though I'm not in the LA market.
Here's to a true legend of the game and Dodger fans are fortunate to have a treasure like this.
