The line for the anthem duration keeps moving out and out: it was around 1m45 at the start of the week, I'm now seeing 1m48 or higher. Most of the comment I'm seeing on it is that it's going to go over.
I don't understand this. Gladys Knight isn't some diva looking to prove herself by wailing away on the high notes ad nauseum - she's not Christina Aguilera. Nor is she Alicia Keys and likely to take a break in the middle for a piano solo. She's an experienced, professional singer: I reckon she keeps it simple, sticks to the script and keeps it under. I also have her to sing with her mic not on a stand at +130 because look at just about any video of her singing, she has a very clear preference for a handheld mic.
What Lovers Do was the opening song at pretty much every stop of Maroon 5's North American tour late last year. It sounds like a set opener. Moves Like Jagger feels more like the obvious set closer to me. Several books aren't even including What Lovers Do as an option. I got it at +350 earlier in the week, it's since been bet in as low as +125. Ship the nickels IMO.
On the picking up free money side of things, I've got a bet on Adam Levine not to wear a hat at -285, because there's almost no way a guy who clearly spends that much time and money on his hair sticks it under a hat. I also have Gronk to have his hand on his heart during the anthem at -435 because of course he will.
I'm taking a flier on Aaron Donald for Superbowl MVP at +1400. Brady is the clear favourite, if the Pats win then he's close to a lock, but I don't see much value there. Think there's definitely a game script where Donald is very live for the award.
