Due to the corona virus, which sports do you think should be shut down? Many sports aren’t allowing spectators and some players have already gotten infected. Are there some leagues which you think would be ok to continue or even have to continue or they could fold?

I would shut all soccer and golf down just because they are so boring, cornhole is more exciting that either one of those. I find it hard to see how football is going to be played safely with such close contact and so many people on the field at once, its just going to be interesting to see how they get it done. I cloud see baseball, hockey, or basketball as being the easiest to play safely (other than golf) and getting their seasons in or finishing them. That being said the MLB has already had some major problems. Tennis would be pretty safe too but its a close third to golf and soccer. Can't wait to see the crap I take from Europeans for the soccer comments.

Basketball and hockey arenas are much smaller btw and there athletes are no doubt much closer to eachother than you ever admit
And it aint hockey if they even consider playing it safely lol

Sports where players are very close to each other, or they have contact. Like martial arts, box, wrestling, basketball, water-polo and so on.
I really hope that soon there will be a vaccine and everything get back to normal. Many sports got devastated cos this virus.

I think baseball might be the first sport to shut down at least in the US. The Marlins already have 18 players test positive for the virus plus they have to travel. The NBA and NHL are in hub cities and don’t have to travel.

Hello

I don't think there should be any football games yet.

Not what I meant, I meant those sports because there are fewer people involved in playing the sport to spread the virus around and obviously the arenas would still be closed to fans like the other sports I mentioned so arena size wouldn't matter.

Basketball and Hockey are taking the correct measures to protect during the "covid era". To my knowledge, neither sport has had a Covid case inside the bubble. Rob Manfred however has no clue what to do. The Marlins were mentioned earlier, but the Cardinals also had some on the covid list as of today. Personally I think baseball should shut down now. The NFL is another I think that should shut down. Just imagine if a Lineman (whether OL or DL) gets it and it was determined that it was in the middle of the game. They have contact with each other on practically every play. Those are the two sports that I would shut down as of now.

All sports that players are in close contact with each other should shut down for example football, rugby and hockey. There is no social distancing in other of those sports.

So genius how you expect athletes (specially in team sports) to compete if they are forced to follow social distancing ...

Hello! In order to quarantine, I would close all mass sports, but this is a difficult question, because for many, this is the only income.

I would say Baseball and football. These are my sports but how are they going to do this with travel to and from highly infested areas. I just dont think this is a smart more for the money.

In my opinion, I believe all sports should shut down. Too risky for everybody.

I mean the mortality rate in most countries is at around 3% - basically like the flu - also it's not clear as to whether these deaths were actually from Corona virus or something else since it someone were to have a fatal car crash and had Corona virus it would be listed on the percentage.
The total deaths in countries hasn't had an increase across Europe to years prior - which in this case is a great indicator as to how lethal it is.

As more and more information is being learned about this virus it's harder and harder to justify lockdowns.

Any large crowds of people at the moment are very dangerous.

I get the feeling the reason I do my job is about to get shut down and that is coaching football. It is going to be a long school year since I will be unable to coach football especially if I have to continue to teach virtually. The parents hate the online school but what they don't realize is that the teachers hate it just as much. Most teachers get into teaching because the like working with people and kids and do not like working with computers which is what we are being forced to do.

I hate to say it because I love the game and I'm eagerly awaiting its return, but crowds or not I legit don't see how the NFL can play safely this season.

Social distancing doesn't work: it's a full contact sport where they've got more than 50 people standing around on each sideline. It's a matter of when, not if, the virus runs through the league.

I don't understand how a baseball fan can say that soccer is boring...
