Oh, that reminds me of an idea I had last year.
Since a lot of the bets people want the most are ones that no one else takes, how about we consider a possible solution:
A pick'em league. Everyone pays $50-$100, and the money is divided up among the winners. We could either do it on ESPN where you have to pick every game, or do it like the Hilton Super Contest, where you select up to 5 games every week and place bets on those. Doing it on ESPN would save me from having to keep track of everything, but I hate having to pick games you don't think there's much edge on.
We could chop the money a ton of different ways. The top 10% could get paid like a poker tournament, or we could chop it by ROI, where all the people with a positive ROI get paid by how high their ROI was. For example, if 2 people had a positive ROI player one had 5% and player two had 2.5%, two thirds of the money would go to player one, one third would go to player two.
