As it stands, the Angels' "plan" is to not DH him the day before and the day after a pitching start. That means he's looking at less than a hundred starts at DH if he makes more than twenty pitching starts. He is also batting eighth at the moment. This projects out to less than 400 plate appearances in a hodge podge of two or three days on, three days off. IMO this is an idiotic approach to try and nurture the best two way player in a Century - even though he has never had 400 PA in NPB. Not to mention that the other DH is the aging Albert Pujols whose stats fell off a cliff a couple of years ago.
As for pitching, he's a 23 year old kid coming off an injury plagued season (ankle). They should be treating him in a way that adapts him to the American game while not losing any of that amazing talent. If he were a kid raised in the minor league system, I wouldn't expect to see him get more than 25 starts, or about 170 innings. He has never started more than 24 games in NPB.
All that to say, if things shake out as they seem to be shaking out, .280/.320/.425 in 400 PA with a lot of strikeouts and about 20 HRs. Pitching in 20 starts, about 150 innings, 1.20 WHIP, 3.50 ERA with 150 Ks.
