Good luck to you. Tell me more, please.I am going to the rowing marathon 100 km on river with canoe, any advise?
I was wondering the same thing.Do you mean you're going to do the marathon in a canoe, or did you just call a rowing boat a canoe ?
.
I was wondering the same thing.
If you're in a canoe you are 'paddling' (not 'rowing').
In my youth I paddled in flat water racing canoe (competed in C-1 & C-2 sprint 500m & 1,000m) & raced against Larry Cain in provincial championships (future Olympic medal winner).
As part of our early season training program, we would paddle 20km on a daily basis. 100km would be a grind.
That's nice ! I'm actually a rower (I compete in 1x and 4x). We also do 20km on a daily basis, sometimes 2x20km in training camps, but a training like this already takes 1h30-2h depending on the days, so 100km is a lot.
For the record, we compete mainly in 2000m

Above is link to marathon. I do not have much time to answer for you all right now. And thanks for good wishes you all. It starts saturday at EET at 7.00 in a morning.
Ah okay. Canoeing (paddling)... not rowing.
gl & have fun
I can only wish you good luck. Have a good time.

Anyway, that's a nice challenge, 100km is definitively a long distance ! I did myself a few marathon (44km in my case) in a rowing boat.
Wear a life vest,,,,and row really fast! May the wind take you to the end!! :vroam:

Good luck Mate!
My older brother was a rower (Don Rowing Club in Ontario Canada) & competed in the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta (famous Canadian regatta in St.Catharines, also held the World Championships in 1999).
The Don Rowing Club was a very small rowing club situated just down the river from a very large canoe club (the rowers were not very popular among the paddlers because the paddlers would often get hit by the rowers as they were not looking where they were headed). Silken Lauman started out rowing at this club and actually lived on the street next to mine where I grew up as a child.
It all depends on your physical fitness! The main thing in this event is not to harm your health! Still, this is a very serious test for you, be careful! If there are photos from the marathon to share them, I think it will be something unusual!
Good luck to you. Tell me more, please.
Thank you. It is very cool!
Have you done anything similar before?
