I realize it's not like trading Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees, but, after winning the World Series, it just seems wrong to go to your arch rival. Even if you have 153 million reasons

Good luck Jacoby Ellsbury, except against the Red Sox

I wonder if there will be an over / under line in Vegas for games spent on the DL?

Johnny Damon, an important part of the "Bambino Busting" 2004 Red Sox team, played for one year with the Sox (2005) after winning the WS and then went to the Yankees as a free agent. This is pretty much history just repeating itself.

He had to accept that money, it didn't matter if it was the Yomiuri Giants that gave him153 million dollars, thats the 4th largest contract ever amongst outfielders. He's also a good player but he turns 31 soon and him and his agent knew the Yankees overpaid.

I wish it were true...

I hate the Yankees just as much as any Sox fan. Jacoby was hurt one year after he ran, full speed into Adrian Beltre...he broke ribs there. The second time , he was landed on at second base, by a guy who fell about 6 feet onto Ells shoulder, breaking that.
These injuries are not a stubbed toe or a hangnail {Josh Beckett}...that sit some guys out for long periods of time, but real injuries.

He will hit 30 to 35 hr. a year in a short right field {my Guess} in Yankees Stadium. He also proved he can steal bases in the American league and be a very effective lead off guy...so expect another 50-70 stolen bases.

I just wished the Red Sox would've paid for him....seeems to me they are going after some old, washed up players and getting rid of their youngsters. I would have kept Salty over AJ Pierwhatever, also. Salty's 28...AJ is 36....crazy.

Just my 2 cents!!

Granderson to the Mets
Fielder to the Rangers

just to name a few - must be keeping the press guys/girls busy over there. :)
