Ravens just announced that they terminated Rice. Do you think he'll ever be back?

Let's hope not...This is not defendable. If this was my sibling...sister, daughter, niece...they would be looking for a body. :)

Look, I know the guy is a total wad, but lets get real!! First they do nothing, then suspend for a whopping two games, and only now, after public backlash, decide to "do the right thing". This should have been done from the get go.

I just cannot believe the NFL seriously gives a crap. They are not punishing him for what he did, they are punishing him for the public perception and it's possible effect on Pro Football. IE: MONEY.

This means, in my mind, they are just as bad as him. Frankly, if he was a better player, I seriously doubt they would be firing him. They clearly could care less about what he did, who he did it to, or anything beyond their own pocket books. Until it looked like a possible dent in the 'ol wallet, they were perfectly happy with doing almost nothing. It's all just hogwash.

The SOB should have been let go as soon as it was known. But, to answer your question, here it is;

If they can profit from him, If they can bring him back without too many repercussions, HECK YES he will be back. And if they can actually profit from bringing back this type of dirtbag, double heck yes!

Where have you been Michael Paler? Haven't seen you in forever.

Ray Rice is a very good player I don't think it matters if it was a lineman or Flacco I think they would have done the same thing

Also I'm a Steelers fan so The Ravens aren't on my like list lol

Good to se you S3mper! How you been?

Yeah, I agree. They always start by acting like nothing happened until the loons in the media start in, then it's "suddenly" a serious problem.

Why are so many bad people good football players, lol?

I've been good.

I don't think that too many good football players (or any sports field) have bad people in fact there are a lot of good people that do a lot of charity work and such but it seems like a lot when the media is all over them

However I think that some of the ones that become bad are either born in bad areas or even affiliated with gangs before becoming pro (example.) Aaron Hernadez, or they become spoiled and get use to getting what they want from a young age in HS then to college then in the pros. They also probably get an immortality feeling like any celeb.

As far as the Leagues decision in suspending for 2 games then making a new rule saying first time domestic cases are "x" amount of games then second time is life time ban.. (believe it is 6 games)

This may come off bad but I think that is dumb... The NFL doesn't and needs to be able to differentiate based on severity and have unique bans for every different case - Ray Rice should be banned based on the severity of what he did, but not ever domestic violence results in physical beatings.

Roger Goodell obviously F'd up (as he usually does) only giving this a 2 day ban at first when some players have been banned for up to a year for possession of marijuana.

Then changing his mind over and over

Well they were prepared to have him after he did it. Just can't keep him around now that everyone has seen it. Same with the NFL. Just a PR move.

I mean did everyone assume she somehow "deserved it" before the video release?

One of the ESPN guys (Talk show) Can't think of his name can't stand him TBH said something along the lines of "Women shouldn't provoke men" or something and got suspended.

The following comments were taken from the Ravens FB page. The problem I have is that these people are allowed to procreate...There are thousands of people that are sticking behind this piece of dung. How can anyone defend his actions. I'm wondering how the Police let him go. They sae tyhe video first. How, if Roger Godell saw this video before today, didn't kick him out back in February. He also needs to be fired, if indeed he had access to the video. TMZ will be reporting on Tuesday that the NFL had access to this video.

"Really?! Talk about double jeopardy. This is ridiculous. No charges were filed, it clearly was a mutual fight and the supposed victim isn't making any complaints! Matter of fact she married his ass a month after this incident happened! Wow this is a bad call"

It is wrong to hit a woman but it is also wrong to spit in a man's face. He was fined and suspended. That was enough. Women can't think they can do anything they please to a man and not expect a reaction. And yes, I am a woman. Best of luck to you Ray-Ray. The Ravens org should have been more loyal.

Yeah, this is ridiculous and people can be stupid..

Some women get beat daily by abusive husbands or boy friends and marry or stick with the person even though they are getting mentally and physically abused every day.. Her marrying him does not make it okay.

Also I never see in the video of her spitting in his face, It looks like to me he spits in her face when they get in the elevator and he also defiantly spits in her face at 7 seconds in the video before they got in the elevator when she taps him in the chest.

Also people going "equal rights" are idiotic as well if you are 200+ pound male and can't stop her without knocking her out something is wrong with you.

Edit: I don't see how any one can be on the other side of this argument TBH

Janay Rice

Great to hear Janay Rice comment in favor of her husband and against the media. She has been victimized by the media's appetite for drama and grandstanding. The media is not protecting Janay Rice from Ray Rice, or any other women for that matter, they are victimizing her.

Well S3mper, I'm not exactly on 'the other side' of this argument, but I'm far more sympathetic to Ray Rice than most, especially as a woman. Not gonna go into great detail, as this horse has been beaten to death in my football forum. In short, what I saw was her slapping him in the face in the lobby, in full view of 2 other people (women). In the elevator, she came at him again, although it was difficult to see who initiated the physicality, I didn't see spitting, not saying it didn't happen.

But in absence of anything prior, and he did NOT hit her twice, nor initiate it, AND she fully wanted to bury it, and happily married him...I'd say this was an isolated incident that should have been buried. It's been blown up to incredulously ridiculous proportions.

Seems to me, anyone as drunk as she seemed could've been knocked out easily. She came to in under 1/2 minute. Not saying he wasn't wrong, even if he was drunk too. Just don't think it's as big a deal as some of these always PC peeps are making it out to be. Hope he gets reinstated asap. Goodell is a freaking idiot, and a total puppet. Look at what's happened with other players since this situation, and you would understand what kinda circus this has become.

He clearly spits in her face at 7 seconds and I can't tell what went down @ 24 seconds..

I agree that it has been overplayed and I'm sick of hearing it on ESPN, same with Adrian Peterson's thing.

Especially since on Thursday Steelers (My team) played the Ravens and for the pre game it was all about Ray Rice... Are you kidding me????

It's more tricky and complex then what I originally made it out to be with women being allowed to hit men but men can't hit women.. It's complicated cause yeah guys shouldn't hit women but women shouldn't hit men either...

It's something that has been given (allowance) through TV and movies where they will show a girl hitting a guy and they guy doing notihng about it it and everyone thinking that it is okay when it is not..

At the same time I don't think this is a situation that he needed to KO her, I just don't see myself doing what he did especially to someone I love no matter how drunk or angry..

Doesn't make it right or wrong, just harder to sympathize.

No, no, no. What I'm saying is I don't believe his intent was anywhere close to KO-ing her, saying if she was drunk enough anything could knock her out. TBH. He did NOT mean to do that. That is VERY obvious to me. He was very justifiably angry and wanted her to stop! IDK how drunk I'd have to be to slap a man in the face in front of other people. Not making excuses for any male, especially since he's black, but that has to feel pretty damn emasculating. She pushed his buttons Admittedly, I have no idea what happened before all that.

At any rate, I think what AP did was 100x worse. You don't hit much less beat ANYONE, much less a 4 yr old, and to teach them a lesson. Sick of hearing about how 'oh, I was spanked (beat on my ass) and turned out fine'. Can't begin to express what a twisted can of worms this opens. Maybe cuz I came from a totally non-violent family. Many that don't don't wanna hear that, for many obvious (to me) reasons.

The only valid argument I could ever make to hit a 4 yr old would be to express something in a way he couldn't otherwise understand would hurt him/her. Like if he/she ran out in traffic. Peterson smacked his little child again and again and again. And apparently not his first time. And he'll get away with it to a FAR greater degree than hitting a woman, no matter what she done. Cuz there are more blurred lines about beating your own kids.

I don't know enough about the AP story to even comment on my thinking on it one way or the other

I c what you mean with Ray Rice another thing is he is a big guy (obviously) and it was probably a one time thing that just happened to be caught on camera

I won't say much else cause it's one of them things where typing it is harder to explain then talking and the back lash from typing it incorrectly lol

On a side note.. Why are females from congress getting involved? The NFL is a business and Congress has no power of the NFL's decisions.. Stay out of it damn you!!
