Question on Sports betting on Carbon

OK, I was in the game for superbowl tickets to winner and ended up 11th which gave me $50 free sports bet. When I went to sports to bet, seen I had $10 free sports bet expiring 31st Dec so I bet Clemson to win for the $10. They won and I won, but I only won $9 and change. I thought when you bet and won, you got the bet back plus the win?? Or was the free bet just that, funds to bet that you don't have and only win if you pick the winner and don't get the free bet funds?

My best guess is that your last sentence is true. The free money was temporary house money. Now the $9 is yours to keep.
