I'm looking at the boston Detroit mlb game tonight (I see this all the time, not just in mlb, and Im just using this as an example)(oh and Im fairly new to sports betting...been doing 3 dollar bets for a month or two).
On the money line boston is -111 over Detroit + 101 which makes boston the slight favorite I get that
On the spread tho the odds and stuff kinda stop making sense. I know what they mean and how much I will earn off x amount of dollars. but heres what it says for this game.
tigers +1.5 (-195) boston -1.5 (+1.65)
does this mean is HUGELY likle that boston is going to win by only 1. I just don't get how the odds can change so drastically between lines on the same game.
hopefully I didn't rant too much and everyone knows what im asking lol

Basically they're just saying they expect it to be a close game and yes, if the bookies were making a "pick", it'd be Boston winning by one run.
