The Texans signed Matt Leinert to a one-year contract. While he will not be the starter, he is a definite upgrade for the team as its backup QB. Right now, the Texans have Dan Orlovsky as its backup QB, and he looked awful in the last preseason game. He threw two interceptions, one of which was run back 91 yards for a touchdown. The Texans have playoff aspirations this year, but have no chance at making the playoffs if Dan Orlovsky is the QB.

Bad situation for the Texans if Leinert has to play.

You took the words right outta my...er...fingers. Hopefully Leinart will never see the light of day down there. At least he should be less disgruntled, knowing he has NO chance at starting with Schaub healthy, no contest.

Pete Carroll probably wanted nothing to do with him.

probably he could figure him out!! The best time in Leinart's Career was under Carroll

I think the main reason they didn't go after him it was because Charlie Whitehurst, [who Seattle swapped second round picks and gave San Diego a third round pick in next year's draft as well as signing him to a 2 year $10 million contract] - If they would have known that Leinart was going to be available they would have waited for him.
