It is unquestionable that Lewis Hamilton became the biggest winner in the history of Formula I. However, I leave here my question: Was Lewis Hamilton better than Shumacher and Senna? A car with so much technology, with the best team of Engineers beside it makes it one of the best drivers of all time. But, roughly speaking, looking at it coldly, do you think that Lewis Hamilton in the days of Senna and Schumacher would be better than both?

(At no time am I disparaging the great driver who is Hamilton, I just want to know your opinion about being on the same level as the other two)

I think to find out who is the best racer you have to compete on the same cars. And so half of Lewis's success is the merit of the car, if not 70-80%

It is so hard to argue this. What is clesr is that Mercedes car is dominant like none before.
Get him into a Haas for two seaons and let s see what happens ;).

Every great person, athlete, racer has their time for glory. You can also recall riders from previous eras. Technologies are changing, which means that mechanics and machines are changing.

Hamilton is the best driver of his time. You can hardly compare this with riders from other times. Different competition, different cars, different circumstances.

There (or in any other team) he probably would have more time to "lead" this BLM bs

I think epoch-making geniuses are hard to compare. The age was different, the technique was different.
Which is for sure, Hamilton is a great racer.

To compare the results of these three hijackers we need to discard the cars they were driving and analyze only the ability to pilot cars on different tracks in different countries I think that only Schumacher was not produced

Yes. Formula 1 is made by numbers, the greatest drivers detain the greater numbers. If some like it or not, Hamilton is the king by now.

Absolutely not

No he is not better. Also Schumacher had the best car at Ferrari and it helped much to win record championships, Hamilton has the same situation with Mercedes. You can see Russell could win the race if he does not have that problem. So no Hamilton is not the best and never be.

well, i think there is no way to compare they were different times, everyone mentioned were excellent drivers in their times, i as a brazilian i am, i was a big fan of ayrton for his aggressiveness on the tracks, which by the way was very questioned by the french press.

For me, Schuhmacher is the best driver of all time.

Lewis has a chance to become the sole leader if he continues to race.
The question arises to me:

Why hasn't he signed another contract yet?

(Maybe the salary expectations are the problem ...)

Maybe he wants to retire or just try something different lol ...
Also should he want more £££ than now then i'm pretty sure some team might be "crazy" enough to offer him even more pounds specially if Mercedes dont want to do it ...

So why is his team mate with the same car not even competitive?

Clearly if Verstappen was his team mate we may see closer races, but it doesn't take away the achievement. Yes the team let down Russell when he had his chance, but Bottas was gaining before the pit stop errors.

Cars change every year. You can't blame Mercedes when there is nothing stopping the other big teams from making changes.

It's the whole package and at this moment Hamilton/Mercedes is the best combo and probably will be again next season.

I also think it is folly to compare drivers from different eras, much the same as people try to compare football teams from different eras when so much has changed. The only comparisons possible are numbers of wins/titles and on those numbers Hamilton will go down as the most successful for now.

I dont think we can compare hamilton to senna. Completely different cars. A lot more strengtj in depth back then. With 7 or 8 teams winning gps. Hamilton and Schumacher are the best of there respective generations. And again equally superior cars. So i think in this instance it has to go on stats. Although there were far better drivers in schumachers era.
