I thought that was a curious move also. It may be that his skills have diminished and his leadership isn't required with this group. Don't expect great things from USA anyway with the group they are in.

I don't know why Landon Donovan left off but either way, it doesn't make a single difference to the US team. They're gonna get creamed. They lost to Ghana past two world cups and even Ghana is not favorite to advance to 2nd round since Ghana and US both have to face germany and portugal. USA is done for. Germany and Portugal are favorite to advance and if anything, Ghana have a chance to surprise and make it.

Even though Donovan hasn't been fully committed to Team USA activities, I'm still very surprised he was left off the team. Who on the US team has done as much as Landon Donovan for US Soccer? Donovan also scored 2 goals in a game less than a week ago to get the MLS record, so it's not like he's playing bad.

Sad to see. T-Dubs has it right, only reason why Donovan isn't on the team. His talent, even still today, is undeniable. Loss for team USA.

NFL is the most popular games in USA
personally, I think it is much more funny to watch than Soccer.

Just because soccer isn't popular in the US doesn't mean every Americans don't enjoy it. Just like xxpxxp, I enjoy watching World Cup as well as many non-Americans out there.
