Who do you like in this year's running for the roses? My top selection is Maximum Security. I think this horse could be a freak and although he has not been pressured too much in his career, he has gotten the job done every start and done so impressively. Despite opinions to the contrary, I feel the Florida path to the Derby was a lot stronger than people are saying.
My longshot play is Honor Code. If the top selection gets unreasonable front end pressure, I feel this horse will be in the first wave closers. He also took the Florida derby prep route. His Fountain of Youth race is good enough to win this.
My very early horse for the Belmont this year is Bourbon War. I was thoroughly disappointed he did not sneak into the Derby field. Backing him at 30-1 plus would have been a potential score.
